When Second Madam Kang heard the words of her sister, she frowned at her. Even though Second Madam Kang respected her elder sister, somewhere in her heart she was proud of the fact that she was married to the second son of an influential family while her sister was married in a family that was only slightly better off than the middle-class families.
So when she heard Madam Kong say that she wanted to hand her a talisman, Second Madam Kang thought that Madam Kong was making fun of her daughter.
