Prologue

"Ever wondered what having a brother should feel like?"

"How would I know?" Kai said with a shrug.

Seated cross legged with back leaning on the side wall of the window, his gaze was collected on the Journal in his hand, skimming through the details. High school was indeed his 'glory days' but that was no excuse to give up on his college course simply because Business Management was a tad more complicated than he expected. He still studied smart and aced most of his subjects in Business Class.

Larry's face bloated into a frown once his twin had said those annoying yet simple-lettered words.

He slapped his thighs, hard and fumed off of the couch.

"Did you just say, how would you know?" He barked at him. His irritation towered in his irises. "What the hell is that s'posed to mean, huh? I'm your freakin twin, dude. Your twin… " He stressed and breathed hard. But Kai seemed not to care about his delinquent rantings.

Kaiden smirked secretly as his book shielded his mouth from Larry's view.

"Why do I even bother?'' Larry settled his back on his seat again. ''It's not like you even get it any way.'' He hissed and then steered his eyes away from the window.

He was in Kai's bedroom in the luxurious apartment they both shared. The sofa he sat on was a large distance from Kai who was sitting on the window base, eastward from him.

THUD!

The sound of Kai's hard Paperback Journal striking the tiled floor made his hairs jump off his skin.

''What's the matter with you, fool?''

Kai's overpowering gaze made him cower in his heart.

''Don't—don't gimme that look, alright."

''What look? And why're your hands so sudden shaky?''

''Keep my hands outta your business.'' Larry said with a snap. He thus repented from raking his hand through his hair altogether. Kaiden's talk irked him out.

''Now that you've got my attention, I suggest you get on with your talk.''

Larry ogled at him, scrunching his nose tip with his thumb and asked. ''Who's to say you're gonna pay attention to what I need to say?''

''And who's to say I won't.''

''I don't trust you.''

''Oh, you don't? I should prolly get on with my studying then. Oh, and remember to shut the door behind you when you leave.''

''Leave?'' Larry's eyes widened. ''I'm not ready to leave yet.''

His brother ignored him and bent over to pick up his Journal which lay flat on the floor. Larry watched him succeed and soon began peering into the papers.

'Huh!'

''Hey, you… '' Larry called at him. ''Why did you do that?'' He asked.

''Because your tongue got tied and you'll rather not state your business in my room.'' Kai was glaring more intently into his Journal. ''As you can see, I've got serious stuff to do. You can leave when you want. Just fucking keep the air as serene as it is.''

''Wha— Okay, fine! Jeez… What's the matter with you?''

''You tell me.''

Larry eyed him as he shut his Journal to look at him.

''Talk.'' Was all Kai demanded.

''I'll speak up now, alright.''

''You better.''

'Geek.'

''I'm listening.''

"Of course you are.'' Larry teased. ''I mean why do you have to be the fucking most annoying human being on the planet. Why do you do like that, bro?''

"Right." Kaiden scratched his hair. ''Do you want to talk or not?''

Larry stayed quiet, so he flipped open the book again.

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't with the snubbing, okay. I truly got something important to say.''

"Then fucking spill it already."

Kai was slowly losing his cool due to his brother's outrageousness; he kept going back and forth about wanting to say something without saying anything in the end. That action alone was enough to get him all miffed up.
