Chereads / Apocalypse Cheater / Chapter 14 - Mother's Warmth

Chapter 14 - Mother's Warmth

[: 3rd POV :]

Having immersed himself in the realm of Modern Fantasia for hours, Daniel now yearned to return to Earth.

The initial excitement of venturing into this new reality had captured him, but as he contemplated his return, a pang of concern emerged.

He realized that his abrupt absence would cast his mother into disarray.

'Knowing Mom, she'd be freaking out right now.'

'But I can't help it.'

'The perks of becoming the first player are enormously beneficial, and how do I explain this to Mother?'

He wondered whether he should tell the truth or hold it in secret.

'How on Earth do I explain in a way that sounds believable?' He questioned.

'Or should I just tell the truth?' He thought.

Rather than hiding the truth, wouldn't it be better if he told the truth?

Moreover, knowing the organization that she's controlling, wouldn't this be massive support?

After finding out the truth about his mother, only then did Daniel know what kind of person she was.

However, it was too late for him to recuperate the love that she had given him.

Recalling how much his mother had sacrificed everything for him in the future, he clenched his teeth.

His hatred towards the apocalypse can't be clenched easily, and since he'll be supporting his mother this time, wouldn't it be better if he could rely on her?

Well, in the end, he decided to leave for the future before logging out of reality with the command.

Just like in the way he teleported into reality, his body broke down into essences of light, and afterwards, he returned to his room in complete peace.

'Status.'

He checked his current progress and couldn't be prouder of achieving stats that were beyond anything he could achieve.

'Well, it's time for me to find and explain to Mom what happened.'

He scratched his head in bewilderment while thinking whether he should tell the truth.

At the same time, words on Daniel's appearance were immediately reached out to his mother through the surveillance group, and her reaction was quite chaotic.

Without any hesitation, she immediately left the meeting room and headed towards her house while leaving the stunned butlers and maids.

Once they saw her leave, all of them sighed in relief as though evading death, and it's not an understatement to say they get to live another day.

After all, Leila Bell was a cold person who wouldn't hesitate to achieve what she wanted.

Leila's grip on her organization, Bell Company, is a web spun in shadows.

Behind its façade lies a darker truth, the company's entanglements with the underworld.

In essence, Bell Company has absorbed a multitude of underworld factions, morphing into an indomitable force.

She's taken on Mafia families with brilliant strategies, creating a legendary and fearsome reputation.

Even the Governments now had to be cautious in dealing with her.

With her company's global influence, no one dares to challenge.

Her extensive support network and her company's dominance are reshaping the corporate world and global power dynamics.

Moments later when Leila finally noticed the presence of her son, she immediately jumped on him and embraced him as tight as she could, afraid that once again, he'd disappear from her eyes.

"Where did you go!? I thought I lost you again!"

Her voice trembled, and flashbacks of her regret started to play.

Her regret for abandoning Daniel is one of the reasons her love for him is twisted.

Now that her son has accepted her, she has developed a condition similar to trauma, where she can't be separated from her son.

Even if she tries to imagine it, she trembles uncontrollably.

No one could understand the pain and reasons why she had to abandon him, and it's a mother's most sinful act to do so.

And no doubt, she'd be judged for it.

Still, after everything she went through, all she wishes is to rightfully claim her motherhood that was lost because of an absurd reason.

A reason that has a relation with conflicts towards her family and the 'man' whom she deeply hated and burned to death.

A history and story she wouldn't wish for her son to know, as it's meant to be buried forever, closed inside her mind.

Daniel remained silent and closed his eyes while enjoying the warmth of the embrace.

He had forgiven her a long time ago, and now, all he wanted was to enjoy the warmth of his mother.

'For so long, I've yearned and longed for her embrace and now...I feel like my mind is relaxed.'

Daniel had walked a path of solitude at one point, and no one knew how lonely he was as he walked across steps that were bathed in the blood of his loved ones.

It was a path that many of his loved ones sacrificed their lives for him, and it weighed on his back more than anyone could handle.

Sometimes, he felt like he was cursed to a fate of infinite loneliness, and the more he loved, the more he lost.

Even during his childhood, he couldn't remember who took care of him to the point where he gained consciousness and awareness of the world.

But he did remember some 'friends' that he made, especially his childhood friend who had been adopted.

Leila didn't need any answers or response from him.

She just wanted to make sure he was fine and not disappearing from her side, and if he did, she would chase him till the end of the earth.

After all, her obsessiveness has been magnified to a high degree, especially after he accepted her wholeheartedly.

Each night, she couldn't stop smiling as the scenario kept replaying inside her mind.

For 5 minutes, they both stayed in the same position while experiencing an emotion that was long lost and eventually, Leila released her hands that pushed Daniel's head towards her chest.

"Well, whatever it is, I'm sure you have your reasons, but please son, make sure to tell me; otherwise, I'd be dead worried."

She warned with worried eyes and her hands on his shoulders.

"Alright, Mother," he replied while scratching his cheek in awkwardness.

Leila wasn't ignorant of what happened in the caption of the camera placed in his room.

She's holding herself back from asking too many questions.

What happened in his room was entirely impossible and otherworldly.

However, can it be said the same thing for the Entity that appeared, where magically, its appearance was broadcasted over the whole world?

And a little while back, before Daniel logged out, a visible window of the screen showed itself to every individual surprised out of their wits.

Even she couldn't believe what was happening, and in the end, it convinced the world that everything that had happened was true.

'Was his disappearance related to the happening of the Entity...? But how...? No matter how much I put my mind into it, that phenomenal sight couldn't be explained with science!'

She thought while watching every of his movements.
