Chapter 2 - Resentment as vast as the ocean

"Aught, the talented sword compleat and the most likely person to breakthrough to 'that' level. Quite the impressive accomplishments" The being sighed.

"Its a pity that you have chosen this path"

Aught was puzzled, sword compleat? 'That' level? He didn't remember any of this, what path did he take? All he remembered is that he trained in the sword as a child but even those memories were fragmented.

As the being looked at Aught's expression he couldn't help but sigh again, this young talent that was able to even survive over 30 days in the white expanse has actually chosen a path like this, he truly couldn't understand what was going through his mind before entering.

"Yet this isn't any of my concern. My master has given a promise, and i am here to grant it on his behalf"

immediately after saying that, the being spread his arms wide-open and a huge illusion of a world appeared with Aught within. this world was beautiful and there seemed to be 2 moons and 2 suns orbiting it.

"This is....?" Aught was amazed as he looked at the illusionary world surrounding him, such a beautiful world!

The being just glanced at him with pity, and then his arms started closing in while Aught and the illusionary world with 2 moons and suns shrank.

CLAP!

The world illusion disappeared, the being stared into space for a bit then nodded and vanished. The white expanse was as clam as always, like nothing ever happened.

*****************************************

On top of a hill near a small village. It was dark, and thunder was roaring and rain was pouring.

on top of the hill, a young man with messy long black hair with white tips, and wearing tattered white robes was standing before two graves with bloodshot eyes and a look of anguish.

"Mother.. father... big brother..." The young man mumbled in sorrow.

As he stood before his parents graves, all the memories of his childhood and clan flooded his mind. His caring and loving mother, his stern yet protective father, His strong elder brother who took care of him, His fellow clansman who supported each other.

"Its my fault! My fault!! My fault!!!" The young man roared thrice, as he lifted his head and let the rain soak his face as tears streamed down.

"Flowcrest clan!!!" The young man screamed as his tear stained face shifted to a deranged look, and his eyes gleamed with insanity.

His clan was destroyed overnight and nearly all his clansmen were exterminated by the Flowcrest clan! A flourishing clan with a bright future gone just like that.

And what for? Only because he offended an elder of the Flowcrest clan by refusing to give up a treasure, resulting in that elder using at as an excuse to attack his clan.

On the day of the attack, his father severely injured, carried him and his mother to flee the city where his clan resided.

They settled in an obscure small village after fleeing for many days. Shortly after, his father passed away due to his severe injuries, and his mother died soon after in despair, due to a rare illness she had since young that interfered with her breathing. His clan used to provide the necessary treatment for his mother, but... it naturally couldn't now.

Although he tried his best to procure medicine for his mother with what treasures his father left, the travel to the nearest city took 3 days, by the time he came back his mother has already passed away.

He still remembered what his father and mother told him when they fled "Son, don't blame yourself for what happened. If we have to blame someone, we should blame ourselves for being too weak."

The young man unsheathed his sword and reversed the sword to point towards his heart "Mother, father... forgive me Clearwind for being a coward, but with my cultivation path limited i have no way to avenge you... and continuing to live an abject life like this, my heart is not strong enough, i can only hope brother is well" a look of weakness and insanity coated the young man's face as his tears kept flowing.

He resented his powerlessness, resented his fate, and resented the Flowcrest clan! This immense resentment was like a noose that was choking him, gripping his heart and squeezing it until he implodes.

Puchi!

The sword pierced through his heart and he collapsed on his back next to the two graves with his blood flowing. His eyes losing their light and growing dim.

The last member of the Clearsword clan, died an aggrieved death just like that.

...

Suddenly an inconceivable scene that would make people question their sanity happened.

A flash of light fell on the young man's body like lightning, and then the blood that was flowing out started to slowly reverse its flow towards his chest, and the sword piercing his heart started to get pushed out until it dropped.

After the time it takes to make a cup of tea passed. The young man was laying on the ground, and his chest appeared to be without a hint of a wound.

Twitch.

As his body twitched a few times, his eyes opened lazily, what was revealed were a pair of eyes that were as unfathomable as the world and as sharp as a blade. If they were to be compared to his previous eyes, it would be like comparing a shallow pond with a few fish to an ocean with innumerable mysteries.
