Wei Wenhe's gaze stopped briefly on Zi Xuan, then moved away quickly.
After pondering for a moment, he regained his composure, bowed to Shen Zhui, and said, "Shen Zhui, your foster father has been waiting for you in the back room for quite some time."
"Yes, thank you, Brother Wei," Shen Zhui replied with a bow. "I am eager to see my foster father, so I will take my leave now."
"That's to be expected, please do." replied Wei Wenhe.
"Let's go in," Shen Zhui waved his hand. Zi Xuan, along with Shen's wife, quickly followed him in.
As they passed Wei Wenhe, Zi Xuan cast a dubious glance at him, but soon regained her composure and did not utter another word.
Upon seeing his foster father, Shen Shan, Shen Zhui noticed that he looked much healthier. His hair had regained its natural black shine, his wrinkles had significantly diminished, and his face was flushed and vibrant, unlike his previous frail appearance.
"Father, I'm back." Shen Zhui hurried forward to assist Shen Shan.
