Chapter 5 - 5. Music Room (2)

BRAKKK

A girl enters the music room with passionate emotions. Her feet stomped as she walked. Her hands are clenched into fists and her eyes are filled with anger.

Alice breathed a sigh of relief because she wasn't the officer Byby had said.

"Argh!! Shit! It's been almost a year and it's over today?!" shouted the girl as she grabbed the guitar and would throw it if it was her own. "How dare you say that?!"

She roamed the room, hoping for something to be thrown safely.

"Argh!! You damn!" she shouted in frustration, especially since she couldn't find anything to throw.

Her hands scratched her head so violently that her hair was messy. She walked over to a piano and sat on the piano chair. Take the water bottle out of the bag and drink the water from there.

Alice shuddered. What made the girl so upset? But from the screams earlier, Alice could guess what had happened.

Instead of watching the girl, he prefers to find a way to get out of the room without the girl knowing who turned out to be her classmate. She can be a release by her.

Finished drinking water, the girl put the water bottle on the piano roughly. Her eyes are still full of anger. Stare straight ahead and be still for a few moments.

Seeing the girl silent made Alice even more trying to find a way out. Alice had moved from behind the drum earlier. Now she is behind a glass cupboard containing books. The distance from the door was getting closer but her classmate could see it because nothing is blocking the view to the door of the room from where the girl is sitting.

"AAAA! I HATE YOU!!" shouted the girl hysterically, while playing the piano in front of her carelessly. "Do you intend to play me from the start?! Is it because of her?!"

Alice calmed herself down from the girl's scream which took her by surprise. She had already stood up and was about to run outside but the girl's actions stopped her. Watching her classmate press the piano tuts roughly and erratically as if to make Alice feel how she feels. Upset, hate, disappointed, and the feeling of wanting to cry together. Want to keep cursing at that person too.

"Did I do something wrong? Did I actually not catch your attention?!" the girl continued. "Argh you damn!" The last piano tuts she pressed was pressed with all her might and allowed to sound for a long time with her groans.

Alice covered her ears and closed her eyes. She became more aware of her friend's feelings.

The girl took another sip of her remaining drink. After finishing it, she threw the bottle carelessly and rested her head on the piano tuts. Every now and then she hit her head there.

"I'm stupid, I'm stupid." she said several times.

Doubts about leaving the room arose. Alice suddenly want to watch her classmate completely calm down. After checking the time on her cell phone, Alice decided to silently watch.

There is no thrilling action from the girl anymore. She lay her head on the piano keys with her eyes closed.

Actually this is an opportunity for Alice to come out but Alice doesn't want it anymore.

Slowly the girl raised her head. She quickly wipe the tears from her cheeks and took a deep breath. She straightened up, stretching and placing her hands on the piano keys.

"Piano, help me. Strengthen myself."

The girl close her eyes again after turning on the piano. It wasn't long before her fingers danced.

️🎵🎵🎵

Alice widen her eyes. Suddenly she felt happy can hear the piano playing from her classmates. Plus, the song that is playing was the one she wanted to sing earlier.

"When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary"

The girl's piano playing and singing made Alice feel her feelings even more. Somehow she felt motivated from that girl. Even though she didn't sing a song with perfect lyrics, Alice still live it. The song that is played feels very calming. Alice smiled, she was sure her friend's heart has calm down.

Bruk

"Oh no..." Alice covers her lips with both hands.

Piano playing stopped. The girl turned to the source of the voice. There is a plastic flower vase that fell off. She squinted, probing there.

"I could be found out." whispered Alice who was hiding behind the glass cupboard.

"Is anybody there?"

No sound. Alice bit her lip, unsure of whether to leave or stay.

The girl was silent for a long time waiting for an answer, finally stand up and immediately walk over to the vase that Alice had dropped.

Alice immediately came out of hiding. "Ah, hello. Sorry to interrupt your piano playing."

The girl flinched slightly at Alice's sudden appearance.

"I'm going out, keep playing your piano." Without another word, Alice passed her.

"Hey, stop! Alice Glinmour?" The girl grabbed Alice's hand to hold it. She look at Alice as Alice turned around.

"Oh, yes." Alice returned her gaze. "You're Kimberley Smith, right?"

"I'm glad you know my name." said Kimberley happily. "How did you know? I never told."

They looked at each other in class. Starting from Kimberley who often glanced at Alice and there was one time Alice knew her glanc.. After that they smiled at each other and looked away. That's what made Alice curious about her name and managed to figure it out. Kimberley's gaze was different from the gazes of other friends.

In fact, they saw each other in class.

"I heard it when the teacher called you."

"I see. I'm glad you can remember my name." Kimberley smiling.

"I'm out." said Alice after smiling at Kimberley.

Kimberley held back Alice. "Can you accompany me? I'm in need of a friend."

Hearing Kimberley's last sentence briefly touched Alice's heart. Having felt Kimberley's feelings since entering the music room, Alice agreed to accompany her. Although she wasn't sure she would be useful.

After Alice nodded, Kimberley immediately pulled her into a chair.

"How long have you been here?"

Alice considered the answer. If she has said that before Kimberley came in, would her reaction have change?

"You saw me from the start didn't you? I don't think anyone has been in here since I arrived."

Alice chose to answer simply. "Yeah, I saw you screaming and playing the piano amazingly."

"This is embarrassing." Kimberley laughed softly. "Can you keep it a secret? It will be shaming if the person who make me like that knowing it."

"Of course. I don't mean to talk about it." said Alice seriously.

"Your reflexes make me trust and calm. Thank you."

A small nod from Alice added to Kimberley's smile.

"But your action was amazing. I was interested in watching you play the piano when you were upset earlier and it continued until you played of You Raise Me Up song." said Alice.

Kimberley smile shyly. "I often do this when I'm angry. I do it when I'm at the peak of my anger and then play music that puts me back in the mood."

Alice narrowed her eyes. "Are you a Westlife fan?" Alice ask after glancing at Kimberley's bracelet which had 'Westlife' written on it.

"Yes! You too?"

"Yes. Since elementary school."

Kimberley clapped her hands excitedly. Nice to have a friend like Alice.

"What were you doing before? Why were you hiding when I came in?"

"I was just looking around. As soon as I heard footsteps approaching, I immediately hid because I thought the officers would check the room."

"Don't hide! If the officers don't see anyone here, the door will be lock and will be open during the day. Usually it doesn't open either because this music room hasn't been used lately." tell Kimberley.

"Really? I don't know. I thought the officers would tell me to come out and write down my name." Alice answered.

Kimberley nodded. "That will happen if the officer recognizes you with a bad impression."

"I see." said Alice quietly. "You said that the music room hasn't been used lately, why? Isn't it fun to be here?"

"We've had a shortage of tutors since a few months ago. The extracurricular activities that were conducted here were also not going well, so the principal suspended the activities until the supervising teacher was found. This room is allowed for students as long as they don't damage things." Kimberley explained.

"Is it also used for dance practice here?" Alice look at the next room which is connected to the music room. There is only half a wall that limits the room and a small door to access the two rooms.

"That's right. When these two activities are carried out simultaneously, the noise is incredible!" Kimberley exclaimed as she recalled her memories of studying the band.

Alice looked at Kimberley seriously. "Do you join the dance extracurricular?"

Judging from her body, Alice felt Kimberley is a dancer.

Kimberley shook her head with a laugh. She got that question quite often.

"I'm join a music band. Dancing isn't part of my hobby." Kimberley turned to Alice. "Have you chosen any extracurriculars to take?"

"Is this mandatory?" ask Alice just small talk.

The purpose of moving here is because this boarding school balances the interests of learning knowledge and the ability of activities outside of lessons. So if not required, Alice will still choose extracurricular activities. She didn't want to just stick to the lesson.

"No, but if you don't choose to take extracurriculars, you will have to receive special lessons instead. The lessons are determined by the teacher." Kimberley explained. "I don't know much about special lessons because I never join."

"Special lessons sound interesting." said Alice. Suddenly she is curious about the course of the special lesson.

Criet,

The door is opened.

"Hey students! Come on out! It's dinner time and the room will be locked." An officer came in and spoke in front of Alice and Kimberley.

The two students obeyed and walked together towards the dining room. Meanwhile, the officer checked the state of the music room and locked it after the inspection was complete and then proceeded to another room.
