The man in dark violet robes itched his bandages, under his mask he was scowling at the scene before him.
The mask was more like a helmet as it covered his whole head not just his face.
It had two angular holes for his eyes and one thick red line coming downward from his right eye and another splitting horizontally in between them.
The Battle had only started a few minutes ago but half of the Avarice mercs
had already died their bodies lining the ground, most with arrows stuck in between
their eyes, the culprit? One light blue-haired male elf with piercing red eyes stood on top of the wall firing several arrows at the same time.
This was the source of his scowling.
(Such inconpetence, I really should get better pawns next time.
That elf is clearly a Grim user, though he doesn't seem to know it.
Should help them? Hmm... fine can't have this mission be a failure)
The man shivered at the thought.
Then proceeded to slowly walk passed all the dying men, an arrow flew towards him aim right between his eyes. He kept walking. The deadly arrow reached his mask and... passed right through it.
Not affecting him in any way.
The archer on top of the wall panicked slightly his mind in a state of confusion.
(How? he should be dead! Is he a mage?
I didn't see any Hex circles
though. At that moment an old elf face face appeared in his mind. Right, when there's an unknown factor, don't hold back.)
"Northwind: Crystalline Creation"
he didn't shout but spoke calmly.
On the the wall ten Humanoid ice constructs
Appeared from Hax circles. Each of them holding a javelin made if ice ready to be thrown at a moments notice
After using "Crystalline Creation" the Elven man's face became slightly fatigued. He breathed in then out a the air from his mouth visible because of the cold.
"Northwind : Frozen kingdom"
His next arrow and the ice constructs javelins glowed with blue Hax circles and then the Elven man directed the constructs.
"All of you fire!"
The arrow came off his string flying with great force, the javelins following it like it was the
leader of a flock of birds. After reaching the
Target they finally exploded into ice spikes. The entire rea ten miles from the gate was covered in ice. The ice constructs immediately disappeared as soon as the javelins hit.
(If their not dead from this we will have to negotiate) The ice archer said with leaning on
the top of the wall with his somewhat shaky body.
All the Elven soldiers cheered.
"Thats the captain alright"
"Horray for captain Northwind"
Though they did so prematurely.
All the Avarice men had frozen solid or been peirced through, not even a muscle twich could be seen.. Well all except one. Mellik, who's shoulder had a bandaged hand on it.
Mellik spoke towards the masked man.
"Than-"
At that moment an arrow peirced Melliks left eye killing him Instantly.
"How stupid, should have bought a helmet." Melliks would be savior said under his breath, mocking the now dead bald man.
After that he continued on his way towards his destination, still walking slowly.
When he finally reached the gate.
The Elven man at the top of the gate spoke in defeat.
"Who are you?"
The man looked back at the dead and dying men behind him for a moment then answered.
"Mellik Avarice, you?"
"Quell Northwind."
"Are you related to Maximus Northwind?"
Quell let out a sigh.
"Yes....he's my father"
"I knew your name was familiar! so, why is the son of the Elven Supreme commander here in the middle of nowhere?" Mellik asked
with genuine curiosity.
Quell mesured up the new Mellik with his eyes before talking again.
" None of your concern. Now, what do you want from us?"
"I'm sure you know it." Melik responded.
Quells face paled but he said nothing
but his mind was in turmoil.
(How does he know she's here?)
Quell after weighing his options, finally spoke up.
"Can we negotiate?"
"Sure, I don't really like getting my hands dirty anyway" he nonchalantly agreed.
" I'll give you the girl but you can't kill anyone in the village" seriousness could be seen in
his face.
"Thats fine but I want to check the merchandise myself."
Quells face flared in anger after basically being called a slaver. Elves hated slavers with a burning passion.
"Fine I will open the gate" Quell reluctantly seethed out.
"No need" Mellik voiced out then proceeded to
phase right through the gate.
All the Elven guards look at Mellik with fear and rage in their eyes but did nothing.
Quell had already order his men to stand down.
As Melik and Quell were walking towards
Silicas house they passed Quells own house.
that had a young boy looking at them through
the window that boy being Zion of course.
Zion saw something in his father's face that he had never seen: Fear.
(I dont know whats going on but he needs help)
He left the widow and went to his father's room.
*******
Quell and Melik Arived At Silicas home.
Rather than a normal house it was more of a small mansion.
Quell rang the bell that was attached to the side of the front doors.
A Maid with Short Navy-blue hair and yellow eyes answered the door.
"Why are you here Quell, isn't the village in lockdown?" her face showing slight confusion.
Quell glanced back at Mellik.
"Wait a second Damalia. May explain the situation in private?"
Mellik looked back at him with disinterested.
"Sure, just don't try anything heroic,
because you definitely aren't one."
he responded jokingly.
After getting permission he headed inside and explained what had transpired at the gate to Her. Damalia was Silica"s only caretaker at the moment and had been doing so for close to four years.
The woman frowned with anger.
"So your saying he was unharmed by your Northwind bloodline and that your going to trade Silica for the village?"
"I don't want to, but we really don't have any other options, well if we want to keep our lives" Guilt flashed in his eyes.
The woman sighed and thought for several minutes before answering him.
"I won't help you."
