Alina ran swiftly than her legs could carry, she kept running through the woods wanting to be far away from the palace before dawn begin to break.
As she ran she could hear eerie sounds, which made her a little terrified but still she kept running not wanting to stop.
Atleast not now.
As she ran her mind drifted to her father, she wondered how he was doing now.
She hadn't even spent a day outside the palace before on her own and she already miss him.
" Please do keep father safe" She prayed quietly as she ran.
Alina had no idea where she was running to but she just kept running hoping she would find a clearing or a town .
Just maybe a small town.
Soon she stopped running so fast as her legs began to tire her, she ran slowly this time holding firmly on to her satchel.
She kept running with the hope of getting to a nearby town when her pace began to slow down, her running turned to walk till she began to feel weak and had decided to stop running.
She looked around finding a great spot to rest her head, when she noticed a tree with broad leaves.
' This should be good'
She walked towards the tree and sat heavily on the floor, opening her satchel she brought a bottle of water.
She Opened it exhaustingly, raising if to her mouth and gulped it down thurstily. Part of the water trickled down her lips as she drank.
Gulping it all down, she wiped her face with the back of her hand.
She rested her back on the tree, later on she felt her energy restoring slowly but she was still weak and knew she couldn't continue her journey in that condition.
She looked around searching for a safe place to rest her head but found none.
Ignoring the eerie sound around her she placed her satchel on the floor and rested her head on the satchel as she laid on the floor.
******
Alina opened her eyes slowly as she looked around and noticed that everywhere was still dark.
She knew something had gotten her to wake up but she had no idea what it was.
She knew she hadn't slept for a long time as everywhere was still dark and dawn was starting to creep in, she tried standing up with the aid of the tree when she heard it.
FOOTSTEPS.
She was frightened and quickly wore her satchel over her her shoulders.
' Has the guards noticed she isn't in the palace' she thought.
At the thought of the guards coming in search of her, she had decided to run as she wouldn't let them catch her easily.
She ran off in the dark ignoring the few scratches on her body due to the thorns In the woods.
As she ran she could hear the footsteps getting closer then she realised she was being chased.
She added up speed as she ran, she knew she wouldn't be able to keep running for long as she soon began to feel weak.
" There she is" She heard someone shout from the distance.
She kept running and soon began to feel all her energy seeping slowly out of her.
Her visions had become blurry as she ran, her head began to feel heavy and she realized she couldn't hold it anymore.
She fell heavily to the ground trying to stay conscious, she would fight to the end and will not allow them to take her back to the palace.
She searched the ground for anything that could serve as a weapon.
JUST ANYTHING.
" What do we have here" She heard a masculine voice.
She looked up exhaustingly and saw two men, she wondered who they were as they weren't on the royal army uniform.
The two men stood above her smirking. They had on tattered clothes and their hair seemed to be unkempt.
' They look nothing like the royal guards ' she thought
' Who are they?'
Then she had realized they were rogues.
She swallowed hard as she was frightened, she had never expected rogues to come after her.
She had heard different stories from the maids about rogues who hid in the woods and how dangerous they were.
" What should we do to this one?" The
smaller rogue asked moving closer to her.
He wore a creepy smile as he licked his lips.
" ah ah I have an idea, why don't we make do with her now" he continued
He moved closer to her wearing a creepy smile.
" Let's see what we have here" he said leaning closer to her and stretching out his hands to touch her.
Alina knew that this was her opportunity to
show this rogue who she was, she wouldn't allow this filth touch her.
Earlier on she had held on to a wood which fortunately had a sharp tip. She had hid it waiting for the right moment to strike and now that he was really close to her she knew this was the best time to attack.
Quickly she thrust the woods tip into his neck.
A gasp escaped from him as eyes became wide in shock, he held on to his neck as he found it hard to breathe.
Alina smiled in satisfaction at what she done, this was her first time killing someone but she knew he deserved it so she she didn't feel guilty.
The rogue who had been gasping for breathe fell to the ground lifelesy, blood gushing out of his neck.
" You've done your worst girl, I am not going to take it easy on you " The other rogue fuming with anger.
Alina who had been engrossed in her victory had forgotten they were two rogues, now on hearing his voice her smile faded.
She swallowed hard at the thought of what the rogue would do to her.
She was really exhausted and tired but still wouldn't allow him do anything to her as far as she's still breathing.
Alina watched him as he walked closer to her preparing to give him a hard time.
" Don't worry pretty, we are going to have fun" he said unbuckling his belt as he smiled devilishly.
He crouched down to her level, pinning her to the ground and bringing his face closer to hers .
Alina struggled frantically as he brought his lips towards hers, the stench coming out of his mouth could shrink the whole leaves in the woods but that was the least she could worry about as she had to figure out what to do with this rogue.
" Stop struggling with me except you want me to do it the hard way" the rogue said angrily.
Alina still struggled with him using all her strength.
" I guess you want it the hard way" he said slapping her hard.
Alina's head began to spin, she had lost all her energy to fight back.
She laid on the floor drifting in and out of consciousness as the slap had affected her and made her lose all her energy.
She laid on the floor waiting for her fate as she closed her eyes not wanting to watch the rogue have his way with her.
Then she heard someone shrieked and forced her eyes open.
As she opened her eyes she saw the rogue's eyes widened in shock as he fell to the ground.
She was still drifting in and out of consciousness as the slap still had a huge effect on her.
' What happened to him?' she thought weakly.
As she drifted in and out of consciousness she felt another presence and forced her eyes open.
She saw a blurry vision of a human towering over her, then she felt herself being carried before she finally blacked out.
