As the explosion cleared, it was clear that the once flat mountain top was no longer apparent. While it was still recognisable, there was a large crater right in the centre of the place the fight was occurring.
How terrifying.
Both Julong and the hooded figure were idly floating above all the carnage, carefully inspecting the destruction.
"Hahahaha! Wan Julong, I am really impressed. I would admit defeat at this point if I didn't still have something to figure out."
"I'm flattered, but I don't understand what it is you are trying to figure out."
"I cannot see your spirit. It is like there is something blocking my vision. It intrigues me, and I must find out if what is blocking it is good or bad before I allow you to go to Yao Yao."
He was clearly referring to Julongs' Ancestral Dragon Spirit. While he would prefer to just say what it was, doing so would not be a great idea, as it could possibly alert those who would voluntarily hunt him for it. His main fear of this was the Sacred Race. The Ancestral Dragon had long informed him of the Sacred God's ruthlessness around all things that involved the Ancestral Dragon in the slightest.
"Unfortunately, I cannot tell you what it is that is blocking your view of my Divine Spirit. So I will have to make you let me through."
Julong raised his arms to the side as if lifting something. As he did, a wall of spears appeared behind him. Each and every one of the spears were powerful, powerful to the point that they would be able to match Little Heaven Genesis Techniques. Needless to say, these were the Spears of Divine Light. And just as expected, such a revelation caused utter silence.
Much like when he had revealed them to the Zixiao Region, silence had ensued. Generally, the cheering audience from below could be faintly heard through the many battles taking place up the mountain, but now it was just silent. While the battles no longer waited for anyone, all reaching their climax - those who were watching couldn't believe their eyes.
"The Spears of Divine Light?!"
It only took a few seconds for uproar to once again rip its way through the Domain. It didn't matter who was watching anymore, without fail everyone was in shambles at the sight of them. It was a Technique no one was ever expecting to see in their entire lifetime.
Mu Wuji was similar. He could only stare at the giant mirror that he and the other Envoys had cast, in silence. His expression was shared by the others who had cast the mirror.
"Just who is Wan Julong?"
The hooded figure seemingly didn't react, he already knew that Julong was in possession of the Technique, same for the Heavenly Saint Edge. Despite that, it didn't really help with his agape expression under his hood. Just seeing the legendary Technique again had brought back fond yet harsh memories from his past.
"It sure has been a while since I have seen those up close."
Julong had an idea of who was standing in front of him for a while now, but hearing what he had just said hit the nail in the head. It confirmed he was in contact with either Zi Xiao or her master, meaning he was a Saint. And there was only one Saint that had graced the Cangxuan Heaven.
"I can imagine, Xuan."
It didn't really take much for Julong to figure out the name of the one in front of him, he had eluded to it quite a lot, and not very secretively either. Though just in case someone was listening in he had only used his first name, even if it would be just as easy for someone else to figure it out. Even so, if he hadn't, it would cause quite the stir if it was revealed that the remnants of Cang Xuan had come to test Julong.
Now it all made sense as to why the pressure he had experienced from Cang Xuan watching him was so minuscule compared to a Saint. It was because he was dead and was already part of the world so to speak, so he had no need to fiercely penetrate space.
"I would have been rather disappointed if you had not figured it out during our fight, but I'm sure you figured it out a while ago."
"It wasn't very hard, it was almost like you were telling me who you were."
Cang Xuan merely chuckled.
"It wasn't exactly my intention to hide from you. It's just because of all the prying eyes. Once we are finished here, I will introduce myself properly."
"I wasn't expecting anything else."
The spears around Julong suddenly shot forward toward Cang Xuan who stood still just watching. He put his hand forward and a sphere of Genesis Qi appeared. It rotated slowly getting faster and faster, beginning to turn into a vortex. This Technique was yet another Mid-Grade Heaven Genesis Technique, and even all his spears combined likely stood no chance against it, even if they were all at the level of a Little Heaven Genesis Technique. Such a disparity in power was too much.
"Disrupting Vortex!"
Just as Julong had predicted, his spears were made irrelevant as they were sucked into the vortex. It seemed to absorb the power of the less powerful Technique, growing in Cang Xuan's hand, slowly getting ready to burst.
He lifted his hand and as expected, the vortex exploded, sending a powerful wave of destruction toward Julong.
Quickly reacting, Julong summoned the Heavenly Saint Edge back to his hand. Properly casting the Spears of Divine Light down to one extremely powerful spear, he combined both. When he did space around him seemed to become unstable, shaking uncontrollably as the wave got closer.
Julong smiled. What he was about to throw was going to be disastrous.
He charged the now combined spear with all the power he could muster, causing the spear to become a tremendously large cone of gold Qi that flew far back into the distance behind him.
It was at that point that Julong threw it.
Just like the first time he had thrown it earlier, a sonic boom occurred, only this time, when it occurred, space around the spear seemed to distort and bend in on itself.
Cang Xuan just like all the other times he had seen Julong harness incredibly powerful Techniques, smiled. While he could feel danger signs going off all over his body to warn him of the attack, he did nothing but stand still. There was no point in him doing anything in his current state, the attack was simply that powerful. There was only one consequence to such a Technique, a very visible one when looking at Julong who had only just thrown it.
He was exhausted.
The spear struck true creating an explosion even greater than any of the previous ones that had taken place, turning the body of Cang Xuan into nothing.
Cheers ran rampant throughout the Domain. It was certainly one way to end the battle.
Julong summoned the Heavenly Saint Edge back to his hand, slowly lowering himself to the now destroyed mountain top. He looked over the ledge and down toward the 9 platforms, spotting the winners all staring up at him, having witnessed his display of power.
Lu Luo, Zhouqiu Quinyu, Zhen Xu and even Zhou Yuan had won their battles. Taking a closer at the platform that Zhou Yuan's battle had taken place on, he could see the headless body of Wu Huang lying on the ground motionless, signifying his death, much to Julong amusement.
It was then, almost as if on queue Julong froze. From behind him, he sensed something akin to impending doom. It was something that he had never felt before, not even when Zhun Lao had attempted to kill him had he felt such a sense of dread.
It scared him.
He was going to die.
It was impossible to survive.
As these thoughts crossed his mind, he was negligent to the fact that his eyes had become a serene gold. All of a sudden, from his body, burst a Great Dragon, one at least half the size of the Saint Mountain they were on. For those who had seen the Dragon before, it was clear to see that this Dragon was none other than the Ancestral Dragon that was fused with Julongs Spirit.
It beckoned a ferocious aura as golden light covered its body as if to encapture its magnificence. Its sheer presence alone blew away everything around Julongs body. It was in that instant the sense of dread diminished, causing the Dragon to roar triumphantly, slowly turning into fading Genesis Stars, reassuming its position in Julongs Spirit.
For the onlookers, it was almost like a spectacle of victory, causing the cheers that had been dying out to reignite like a spark to gas. They were completely unaware that it was a last resort defense mechanism from the Ancestral Dragon. They were even negligent to what the Dragons' identity was.
Just what on earth had caused him to react like that?
