Chapter 32 - Strange Genesis Beasts

Julong had been fighting the Genesis Beasts he had found scattered throughout the forest he was in for a little while now. It had probably been a few hours already and he could feel some very steady progress in the Heavenly Saint Edge, which he had been feeding half of the Genesis Qi he was obtaining to. Thanks to Mushin Yuan who had been restoring it himself before Julong obtained it, the weapon was already equivalent to the Advanced Qi Nourishing Realm, or the peak of a High-Grade Black Yuan Genesis Weapon, and would evolve soon, becoming equivalent to the Heavens Gate Realm, or Heaven Genesis Weapon, if he fed it enough Genesis Qi.

He was rather pleased about this as it meant that he would soon become even stronger. So, instead of searching for treasures, he focused on channelling Genesis Qi into it further by killing Genesis Beasts.

It wasn't long until he came across a Genesis Beast that was much larger than the others. It was an alpha of sorts if one wanted to look at it as such. The most interesting thing about it though, was that when he initially engaged it, the beast cast its own Genesis Technique.

Can't only Genesis Beasts with special bloodlines do that? Perhaps it was from the influence of the drop of Saint Blood. It seems plausible enough.

The beast was a monstrous wolf looking, creature. The technique it had used on him was a simple beam of Genesis Qi. One might mistake the strike for general manipulation of Genesis Qi, but just by looking at it, he could tell if he was hit there would be adverse effects to his spirit, meaning it was definitely a Technique.

The so-called battle only lasted a few seconds, Julong ending up stabbing it multiple times in the side with his Spears of Divine Light.

As it fell to his side, dead - just like all the other creatures he had slain - a ball of Genesis Qi rose from its body, only this time it had something inside of it. He grabbed it with his hand, allowing the Genesis Qi to flow into him and his Genesis Weapon as he did so.

He quickly identified what he held in his hand. It was none other than a Genesis Technique, and Julong was willing to bet that it was the same Technique the beast had used against him.

So treasures can be found by slaying Genesis Beasts? Not only that, Genesis Techniques can be found along with higher and purer amounts of Genesis Qi.

Julong having uncovered this information, decided to keep his eye out for any kind of mutant or large Genesis Beast. One that could give him some valuable resources to add to his depleting collection of treasures. The Techniques weren't so important to him unless they were Heaven Genesis Techniques. Black Yuan Techniques would no longer have any use to him after all since he had the Spears of Divine Light, which once evolved could easily reach such heights, hence his need for treasures to evolve said Technique. Once he got some Heaven Genesis Techniques, he would undoubtedly be the most powerful practitioner in the Domain, and possibly the Hunyuan Heaven, had he still been there. But that also meant he would be the most powerful Heavens Gate Expert in the Cangxuan Heaven, which was enough for both his reputation and confidence to grow even further.

He stashed the Technique into his universe bag, he would be able to trade it for some treasures from others if he met them. People who were not as talented as he was would be perfectly satisfied with a Technique that was able to hurt someone spiritually.

In the ensuing days, Julong left no area he went unturned, hunting Genesis Beasts as a hunter would rabbits for sport.

He had come across a few bigger Genesis Beasts and had gained some treasures he could use, along with some lower tier Genesis techniques that he would also be able to trade for some more treasures.

It wasn't until a week after entering he had spotted a large group of Geniuses flying overhead, seemingly hunting something or someone. Either they had found a very valuable Genesis Beast, or someone had offended their group, and if it was the latter, it was probably Zhou Yuan.

Either option was rather enticing. So it was pretty easy to decide that it would be best to follow them to where ever they were headed.

It was around a half an hour trip, and surprisingly, he had hit the nail on the head. There was a large meeting being run by Xiao Tianxuan and Gu Ling about a Genesis Beast that had a Little Heaven Genesis Technique.

No one had noticed as of yet, but Zhou Yuan was among the people in the crowd, hiding behind a cloak he had apparently found. He had a feeling Zhou Yuan had no intention of sharing with anyone else and was willing to go by himself. How greedy. It was an idea he could get behind, but he doubted Zhou Yuan was that arrogant. He was probably going to swoop in at the last second and take the spoils.

Taking a note out of Zhou Yuan's book, he decided to hide and listen in. The Genesis Beast appeared to be a Grade 4 Genesis Beast, comparable to an Alpha-Origin Practitioner.

No wonder they wanted to get a large group for the hunt. It could easily wipe out a small party, assuming they were normal. But Julong was anything but normal. Between him and Zhou Yuan, it would be pretty easy to steal both the Technique and the Genesis Qi from the others.

Generally, Julong would feel pretty bad about playing such an underhanded tactic and hindering others progress. But both Gu Ling and Xiao Tianxuan were on his bad side, and after he gained the loyalty of the geniuses they were recruiting, he was sure he would chase after both him and Zhou Yuan. What they were doing was underhanded in itself. What was one more little plot twist?
