Gisella took a seat on the bench beside Malota as she was instructed.
The two of them didn’t speak for a long moment as they just stared at the troupe members, many of them were stretching out or preparing their acts.
Malota was the one who spoke first. “You are planning to give a performance, yes?” She then motioned with her old hand towards Gisella’s injured foot.
It was a conversation they had had before about her current physical state and whether or not she would be able to perform.
Malota offered to have an audience with the King and his chief advisor on her behalf to speak about her injury. Gisella had refused almost immediately. They didn’t have the option of asking favours of the King, and she didn’t want Malota put into the spotlight anymore that she had already been.
Gisella would endure the pain if she had to.
