A few weeks later, the college conducted a global politics symposium. When students took their seats in the auditorium Chris noticed somebody familiar on the stage walking toward the Grand Piano. His heart sank.
Daniel nudged him "It's her. It's her."
Chris looked at him. "I know, the red dress, it is her, oh my, I finally am seeing her," He said.
The girl played a piece of Beethoven beautifully. She seemed to have melted into music while playing it. He felt tense seeing her again.
"What is wrong with me?" Chris wondered. He inhaled and exhaled several times and he could feel his heart pounding. "Why? It has never happened to me before. I have been with much hotter girls before, but why this sense of emotions now?
Daniel came back with news. "She is from Music Department. Their Ace. She has won all the contests until now." Chris looked at him waiting for him to say more. "Her name is Aurora." He said stuffing his mouth with a hot dog. "There seems to be some mystery around. She is close with none." Chris smiled. He got up running before she finished playing. He waited for her backstage while the whole auditorium roared and applauded as the music ended. She walked off from there not even looking at anybody's face stretching her hands. She took something from her pockets and put it in her mouth and gulped it down with water. The symposium seemed to have begun. He quickly walked back to his seat as a teacher chased him away.
For the next whole month, he kept following her around, going to the cafeteria close to her department and walking behind her whenever she strolled through the campus. When she never cared to notice him, Daniel came up with a plan. Aurora was sitting under the tree with headphones in her ears. Daniel sat close to her putting his hands on the shoulder.
"Take it off" she ordered him.
"I guess you need someone to look after you. You look so lonely, babe." Daniel spoke dirty. At that time, Chris came from behind the tree, pulled Daniel's collar and began kicking him.
"You think the act of saving me is going to seduce me. Or make me going to fall for you?" she asked him. Both stopped fighting and looked at her. "Plan it well before you carry out." She told them.
"She understood. Plan failed. Let's drop it" Daniel whispered. Chris gave a nice punch to his face and left him. He screamed with pain.
"Did you think I didn't see you following around right from the club?" Chris looked away not reacting to anything. He was smiling. "What? Speak up. Aren't you old enough to follow around?" She got irritated. "Why is there something inside your mouth?" This time he looked at her face. Daniel got up, his nose bleeding.
"He can't speak," Daniel said. "Why is he someone famous or" Daniel stopped her but "He can't ever speak. He is."
"Shut up Dan, just come." Chris pulled Daniel by his collars and dragged away with him. Aurora laughed and stood wondering there for some time and continued her work. Chris never showed up in front of her again. Whenever they met he would escape and go somewhere else. Aurora would smile and just walk off. She tried to understand how embarrassed he must have felt not aware of the game. She decided to go to talk to him. After her practice hours, Aurora went to the cafeteria in the Engineering block where the architect students come for lunch. Though she was popular nobody dares come and talk to her. She has always been cold to people, shutting them out except a handful to whom she was close with and trusted.
She took the lunch and waited for him to come. And he came straight to her table. "What are you doing here ?" He asked sitting down.
"Thought I would come and see you," She said and began with her lunch. He sat there eating nothing. She didn't even mind him but put on the headphones listened to her pieces of piano and completed her lunch. "What?" she asked him when she caught him staring at her. He shook his head and drank the juice. "see you around" she said and walked away. He had no idea about what just happened.
