"You seem bored Inshal" Marlo spoke softly as they cuddled in their chambers.
"Yeah, it's been the same day for a while" Inshal yawned and stretched her legs out.
"Want to get out of the castle? we can go out to eat tonight, wanna go on a date?" Marlo asked, he's been acting wired lately. 'Somethings of, he usually not this romance, sexual yes but not that much for romantic talk... or I might not have seen it since we've been on the earth in the cold'.
"Sure, where at?" Inshal asked and kissed his cheek.
"In the fancy restaurant, we are having a dinner after all" Marlo seemed to be amused but pet the back of her neck. "Hey I have a meeting booked with basically all of our generals, I have something big to announce" he had a smile.
"Oh no what happened?" Inshal smiled sycasticly and Marlo chuckled while nuzzling his node into her halo.
"You'll see" he twitched his tail in obvious excitement. They went to the throne room and Marlo ordered that the council table to be set up, workers obeyed and they sat waiting for the rest. They finally showed up, a couple having cold sores, they all sat down and Inshal counted at least 30 generals. "You all took your time!" Marlo huffed and everyone tensed.
"Did you not hear?" Darkin asked, he was the only one who was calm about his comment, "there was a bit of a 'invasion' at the southen part of the city".
"And non of you told me?" Marlo slashed his tail, Darkin kept calm but Inshal could smell all of their nervs.
"It was like 40 demons and that was easy to deal with, I checks for any sign for any other attempts and that's why we're late" Darkin finished and Marlo relaxed.
"Well let's get into why I called you all here" Marlo sighed, "since we have nothing else to do, especially on earth I would like to join the mortal war" he announced and everyone started screaming their thoughts. Most thought he lost his mind but a few felt like it would be a nice project. "Alright!" Marlo howled and the room went silent, "Darkin how about you speak for everyone?, instead of everyone screaming at me".
"Well in my opinion, I'll say you lost your bloody mind" Darkin hissed, "what are you thinking? I heard you let the elfs go this morning and now this" he slashed his tail and Marlo narrowed his eyes. His horns glowed and Darkin had a startled look, then an expression to dare him to try anything.
"Inshal?" Marlo finally growled, "what do you think".
"I think we're above what ever the mortals are arguing about" Inshal have a loving smile though, "it could be a nice distraction" she admitted.
"Look we are planning to be allies with the humans, just to have fun, don't take it too seriously and end up getting killed" Marlo ordered, as if their views were not a concern of his.
"So this is just a game for everyone? get them back into fighting to sharpen their skills?" Inshal asked as if she knew what she was talking about and he smiles.
"Yes, see it's not all insane" Marlo nodded and looked a bit relieved that she knew what he was going on about.
"Well that makes sence, fun and team building" Darkin relaxed himself and there was a long and boring decision of what to write to the human King. From what Inshal knows he was fair with his people and refuses to admit that he needs help even if his people were dying, that's why the war took notice of the second council so early. Why did he accept the offer the elves has given when he was that stubborn and unwilling of getting help.
"Right so the note I'm gonna leave Kakan to write, for the rest of us we're gonna chill and rest up and prepare for a war" Marlo dismissed everyone and Inshal decided to go back to her family's home.
"Almost everyone should be there for lunch, they have been waiting literally hundreds of years to meet you" Darkin had a proud smile, a smile that Inshal lounged for from her mother. A smile that she has seen other mothers and fathers give to their kids when they present something impressive to them.
"I bet they're gonna all want to know every little bit about me then" Inshal joked and Darkin nodded, "oh so I'm gonna be like a celebrity then?".
"Yep, they are going to love you" Darkin scuffed up the fur ontop of her head, knocking the crown to be wonky.
"Hey, I worked really hard to keep that straight" Inshal flicked her tail and tried to put it back in its right place.
"Let me help you" Darkin moves it once and it felt perfect, they had a really nice forest like front garden, a climbing frame in the distance is enough to tell that a lot of kids live here.
"So how many cousins do I have?" Inshal asked, remembering that Marlo mention around 20 or something.
"Well you have 37 cousins, one aunt and three uncles" Darkin stretched his wings and opened the large door. In the main entrance around 5 kids where playing a twisted form of monopoly, they looked to be just shy of puberty but not a kid anymore.
"Uncle Darkin!" one of them screeched in excitement, "you're back from earth", his tail wagged uncontrollably. 'Oh my it's like when I was a kid'.
"Yes Kalico, I've been back for a little while now" Darkin explained, "where's your mother?" he asked and Kalico pointed to a room on the bottom floor at the back.
"Inshal this way" Darkin walked of to the rooms at the back of the house, her cousins looking at her with pure interest. They entered a bar like room, a lot of laughter and drinks filled the room, "Vanda, how have you been?" Darkin asked sitting down. Inshal pulled herself a chair and a demon who has completely different colours and markings gave her a glass with alcohol.
"I don't think that's a good idea" Inshal gave it to Darkin and Vanda gave a shocked and concerned expression.
"Are you ok? when does anyone in this family say no to a drink?" Vanda raised her voice and Inshal could feel the eyes of everyone looking at her.
"I'm fine, just never had a good experience with alcohol" Inshal smiled awkwardly and Vanda moved next to her.
"Nonsense, have a shot or two" Vanda ordered her a familiar shot and gave it to her, "you're not on earth anymore so you don't have to worry".
"I kinda don't want to get drunk when I'm needed back at the castle tonight" Inshal explained and Vanda raised an eyebrow.
"Since when do one of our blood get drunk?" she looked and Darkin and he gave a shrug.
"Do you see my wings, angels get drunk a lot easier then demons, even if I'm half" Inshal pointed to the feathers and she pushed to shot towards her.
"You won't get drunk, we're gonna work on your tolerance" Vanda suggested and Inshal sighed knowing that she won't be able to make her stop.
"Alright" Inshal took it and the strong taste made her flinch, "what was that?" she asked.
"A normal shot, here try this one" Vanda past her one more and it was not as strong and tasted very nice. "Here, just a couple more" Vanda got around 5 and Inshal recognised this.
"You know the last time I was given a lot of shots, Marlo stabed his eyes out" Inshal tried one and it tasted watered down.
"Oh well for what you are needed for isn't too serious though right?" Vanda asked and Insgal shook her head, the room starting to spin.
"Yes it is, and I can't be the slightest bit drunk so I need to stop" Inshal grabbed her head and Vanda put her hand on her back.
"Right, we have a lot of work to do then" she took the lay 4 one by one in a row.
"Can I ask you something?" Vanda asked, the room calming down and settling.
"Sure" Inshal gave a very soft tone.
"Do you miss the hevens at all? I mean it is very different from here" Vanda got another drink and she doesn't look anywhere near drunk, not even sloppy at all.
"A bit to be honest, it's very got here and no clouds" Inshal shrugged her wings resting, they were that large that the tips rest on the floor.
"Do you ever feel the temptation to go back?" Vanda asked and Inshal feel Darkin tensing up a bit, "you are not the angel here Darkin".
"Yeah but I would visit the hevens when Inshal was a kid, it's very pleasant" Darkin flicked his tail, "as long as you ignore the chill in the air".
"I can live without, as long as I can get my room to coll down a bit" Inshal answered, while it is ture he did visit, he was forced to stay on the ledge and back to earth.
"Ok well lunch should be ready" Vanda got up and left to a room that was connected to the bar.
