Chapter 25 - Quarrel

Bai Qian paused for a moment and asked, "Do you think this is feasible?"

Lu Rong elegantly put down his chopsticks, picked up a napkin, and wiped his mouth as he said, "I've said it before. This is Lu Garden, and you have to listen to me."

"But, she is, after all, Lu Garden's future mistress," Bai Qian looked at him helplessly.

"She isn't," Lu Rong said with certainty, "Lu Garden has its mistress."

Hehe, is that so? Could he be talking about her?

Bai Qian naturally did not believe him. "You're not going to say that Lu Garden's mistress is your dead wife, are you?"

Lu Rong frowned slightly. "She's not dead yet. Watch your words. If there's a next time, you can just leave."

Bai Qian laughed lightly, "Mr. Lu, everyone in the capital knows that your wife is already dead. Why? Just because you say that she's not dead yet, she has to be alive?"

"Bai Qian!" Lu Rong abruptly roared.

Bai Qian ignored him and continued to question him, "What? Did I say something wrong? Aren't you going to marry her sister? Speaking of which, I'm also curious. You guys are rumored to be married for so long, so why aren't you married yet?"

All of a sudden, the atmosphere became tense. The pressure around Lu Rong's became lower and lower. Bai Qian did not want to be outdone either. She looked at him and did not back down.

He warned in a deep voice, "You don't have the right to interfere in my affairs. If you continue to talk nonsense, I will make it so that you can't stay in the capital!"

Bai Qian snorted, "Are you feeling guilty?"

"Bai Qian!" Lu Rong slammed his hands down on the table heavily.

"Stop fighting!" At this moment, Ran Ran shouted with a sobbing voice.

Bai Qian was taken aback. To think she had forgotten about Ran Ran's existence. She quickly patted her back and coaxed her, "Ran Ran, we are not fighting."

Ran Ran's eyes were red. She put down her bowl and chopsticks, jumped down from the chair in a grievance, and ran upstairs.

Lu Rong put away his angry expression. Was Ran Ran scared because he had just slammed his hands on the table?

He quickly stood up and chased after her.

Seeing that Lu Rong had chased after Ran Ran, Bai Qian stopped in her tracks.

She had been too anxious just now. She had been too anxious to seek an explanation for herself. If she could bear with it a little longer, Ran Ran wouldn't have been sad.

She was just unwilling to accept it. How could they step on her corpse and live so happily?

It was fine if that was all, but to think Lu Rong acted as if he was missing her right in front of her.

Wasn't this too disgusting?

Lu Rong pushed the door to the little girl's room open only to find Ran Ran lying on the bed, almost submerged in the soft blanket, not moving at all.

He coughed lightly and asked as if he was reflecting on himself, "Ran Ran, did daddy scare you just now?"

"No," The little girl raised her head aggrievedly and looked at him with red eyes, "Daddy, don't blame Auntie Bai. It was unintentional, she didn't mean it."

When her mother said herself to be dead, her heart should have been in a lot of pain.

Lu Rong didn't expect that Ran Ran's first sentence would be to plead for Bai Qian. He nodded. "Okay, daddy promises that I won't blame Auntie Bai."

"Daddy, do you like Mommy?" Ran Ran sniffed and asked him in her childish voice.

"I do," Lu Rong replied solemnly. In his entire life, he had only liked one woman, Qi Qian.

"Then why are you marrying that bad auntie?" Ran Ran asked in confusion. "Don't you like mommy?"

"Ran Ran, if you tell me where your mommy is now, I'll tell you the reason, okay?" Lu Rong tried to lure the answer out of her again, this time with some additional conditions.
