The 2nd era was known to be the deadliest era to this day. Tribes shed each other's blood under the name of no one but honor. And to mark how much of a nightmare this era was, the War of Seven Families came to paint blood on dust and dirt.
At the time, the Musicians weren't counted as a deity. They belong to a group known as the Candidates for Heaven, along with the Invincible Viper and the Mother of Nature.
However, even if they used to be pious people, the wickedness of where they reign slowly consumed their sanity. And so the male musicians were swallowed by rage, confusion, and hatred towards one another.
The darkness mushroomed beneath their heart, turning them against each other, blaming their own kin for the suffering they had to endure, while they should have been promised heaven.
Though much to their disappointment, the Musician, just like every person living on Land, are immune to their own element. The Creator prevents them from hurting those who share the same fate.
Fueled by frustration, the male Musicians divide themselves into 7 families, categorized after the group of instruments of their choice.
They visited the other tribe to recruit them as their troops, yet they didn't strike a bargain nor manipulate anyone to join them, their methods are far more black-hearted and efficient.
Necromancy, each family massacre a huge chunk of the tribe of their choosing, and revive them as an army known as the Living Corpses.
The leader of Genka's 2nd generation, however, does not stay silent and accepts all of this. The man confronted His Holiness Verslinder that was the Head of the Gloria family, who mercilessly slaughter lots of Fire folks.
The leader then said to His Holiness Verslinder, that he knew His purpose, and offered his tribe to help him with His war. For a Genka, they rather die under the Red Banner, than be killed without a choice to fight.
Under the recommendation of the man who is now the God of Time, His Holiness Verslinder accepted Genka's proposal, and let them fight alongside him as the living.
The battle then enraged… restless and cruel. Music crowded the air, filling the heads of their troops with power and order. Lots of Waraney lose their lives, the casualty even greater than all of the 2nd era wars combined.
Nonetheless, they achieved victory, with the eradication of the last Living Corpse, the war marks its end. The display of Genka's bravery struck the Musicians about how wrongful they are, and to atone for this unforgivable sin, the male Musicians asked the leader of Genka's 2nd generation to curse them.
The cursed itself however is a story on its own. One of my most favorite story if I may say~.
The leader of Genka's 2nd generation is Hakan, grandfather of Sahasya, Hada, and Falisha. Yep, although all of us were born near the start of the 5th era, their father, the current King of Kaput Island, was born in the 4th era, not the 3rd era like his Brother, His Holy Majesty Amartya Vashura, the King of all King, the Ardiansyah.
Back in the 2nd era, at the time, Sky Scientists were famous for our ignorance towards war. Everyone was so focused on their research, they have no time to be wasted on such foolish things as bloodshed.
But, even back then, 2 out of 5 tribes here in the Cities Above the Clouds, have a grudge towards each other just because we are a direct opposite in terms of elements. That's right, it was the Light tribe and the Darkness tribe.
However, since we know nothing about fighting nor killing, the two tribes left in the state of cold war, we hate each other, but that's just it. No violence whatsoever.
Until near the end of the 2nd era, until the news about a war prodigy named Hakan came to the ears of Sky Scientists. Finally, the Survya (Darkness tribe) found a way to channel our hatred.
The main family at the time then invited Hakan to teach us more about the art of war, and he happily obliged their request.
That's the time where the Sur Laavak first being born, and they came to Cagakaskara, start butchering the resident Hyakra (Light tribe). Seeing this, the Hyakra start researching their own martial arts and start fighting back.
The war between the two tribes was so cruel and massive that it disturbed the route of business, trade, and travel of other tribes. The King of the Sky then decided to move his Palace to the upper part of the Sky Cities, and build a new city there, right above yet far from where the Light-Dark conflict.
There he made an easier route for the other three tribes and made a capital city as its core. The city is now the center of humanity's economic growth, and all kinds of shops open there for our liking.
The conflict between Hyakra and Survya however, didn't last for eternity. At the end of the 3rd era, with the help of the Ardiansyah and the Musicians, the reigning Queen decided to put an end to the Sky monarchy system, by eradicating every high-ranking member of each tribe in the Sky, along with all the main family there.
With all of our strongest soldiers dying, the conflict then ceased to exist. We still hate each other, but we stop taking each other's heads.
At the start of the 4th era, the Creator decided to pick a new main family for each tribe above the clouds, since our old ones perished.
My family, the Shinigami, was chosen to be the main family of the Survya, and so our power also improved significantly.
My grandfather decided to at least keep the tradition of Sur Laavak running and asked Hakan to continue his teaching to our people.
That's why, I grew up with a lot of Waraney present in our Palace, sharing their knowledge with our people. Hakan also often came to personally teach us his brilliant view of war.
Ever since I first saw it, I'm fascinated by the fire, the way it moves, the way it burns, oh how beautiful it is. It was love at first sight. Too bad I don't have the power to actually wield them.
When I was little, as naïve as I was back then, I asked Hakan who already really… REALLY old, to marry me when I grow up.
But he smiled at me with the warmest face I've ever witnessed, and kindly rejected it. He said he might not last when the times come. However, he said he had a grandson, a couple years younger than me, that I might want to meet.
I was sad that he rejected me, but the news about his grandson kept me at bay to this day. He said if I study my hardest I'll be able to meet the boy when the God we worship created a place for us to study together.
I knew he can somewhat predict the future, yet I'm tremendously happy that the boy is better than my dream and expectation. However, Hakan lied to me about one thing… he is still alive! And healthy! And still pretty fucking strong! There's no way he died anytime soon.
