Haru rushed to open his door room, then slammed the door loudly. He simply threw his bag on the floor, then laid down on the bed, letting his body sink into despair.
His mind was really messed up. Memories of Daiki's and that person's closeness still rang in his head, their laughter was like thorns piercing his ears but it was his heart that got the deep pain. And, the more he tried to dodge, the more it burned his patience.
Staring at the ceiling of his room, he felt that his mood was getting worse. He wanted to cry but he could not and it was twice as stifling!
He realized that Daiki was free to make friends with anyone; laugh with anyone because he was not someone who meant to Daiki—even they never talked to him
However, even though Haru knew his situation, he still thought about Daiki and still could not accept that fact. He even foolishly thought that he was so naive when it came to romance.
He thought about it over and over again until he decided something, which was to stop seeing Daiki secretly even though he knew it was an ambiguity that he could not know how long he could stand.
Was it the right decision?
Haru did not care. He just did not want to be in more pain than he was now.
After Haru's mother made dinner, she looked at the several dishes on the dining table—all of which were Haru's favorite foods. An impatient smile was suddenly etched on her face and she was sure that Haru would like it. Her eyes lit up brightly, she hoped that Haru would return to a better mood after eating the food.
Impatiently, the middle-aged woman immediately called Haru from downstairs, but she did not get any answer from up there. Mrs. Youichi sighed and finally decided to go up to his room.
As soon as she turned the knob, Haru's door was apparently unlocked. Mrs. Youichi peeked a little behind the door and saw Haru was falling asleep on the bed without taking off his school uniform first.
Taking a deep breath, Mrs. Youichi entered without hesitation and grumbled in a loud voice, "I know tomorrow is Sunday, but you're still not allowed to wear your school uniform to sleep. At least, put it in the basket first, then you can sleep as much as you want."
Haru heard his mother's angry voice and immediately opened his eyes slowly. As soon as he turned sideways, he saw his mother standing beside him with her hands on her hips. His mother was still in her apron and the smell of the spices could be smelled from her clothes. Haru guessed that his mother called him for dinner.
Mrs. Youichi looked at Haru with a fierce look. Even though that gaze looked like a predator, her affection was still evident in the reflection of her eyes.
Haru yawned, then immediately got up. Although his face still looked sleepy, he immediately took off his clothes without a word to say.
His mother looked at Haru's face intently and found that not only did he look sleepy but that it was still the same gloomy mood as before that still lingered on his face.
Mrs. Youichi sighed incessantly. As soon as Haru was done changing, she sat next to Haru. She clasped his hands gently while asking without further ado, "Is this about someone?"
Hearing that question, Haru was immediately surprised. He was no longer sleepy and immediately turned to his mother with a frown. His mouth did not need to say anything because his eyes already showed what he wanted to say.
Mrs. Youichi smiled warmly. Seeing those eyes, she immediately got the answer as soon as their eyes met. She stood up and said, "We should love someone naturally. Otherwise, you will have trouble in your life. If someone wants to leave, let him go. No matter how much you love someone, letting someone stay who didn't want to stay is something that will make you suffer."
She looked at Haru with a proud smile, then she continued before she left, "Dinner is ready. I'll be waiting for you at the dining table. Don't even think about going on a hunger strike after you've had your heartbroken, okay? I'll be mad at you."
Haru froze on the bed with his mouth agape slightly. He never thought that his mother would advise him so wisely. During this time, he had never vented about his love for his mother, however, everything was known by his mother without him having to say a single word.
Haru smiled faintly. However, what his mother said was true. After all, from this point on, he had decided to stop seeing Daiki again, so this would be over soon.
At the dining table, Haru sat beside his mother, settling several types of food on the dining table. His empty bowl was immediately filled with hot rice, then his mother said with a chuckle, "You'll feel better after eating. Just so you know that a broken-hearted person shouldn't be hungry because that would make him unable to think straightly with a stomach and brain that are empty."
Pouting, Haru stubbornly replied, "I'm not heartbroken. I'm just sleepy!"
Mrs. Youichi chuckled secretly. By Haru saying that he thought that Haru's mood was starting to improve a bit, so he thought that he didn't have to worry too much about Haru any more.
