Chereads / Error's Paradox / Chapter 3 - Behind the Scenes

Chapter 3 - Behind the Scenes

Supernova...

One of the few events in the universe that could release an astronomical amount of energy. Yet, it happened right inside of a hidden and locked mystical castle...

Klein was betting with Amon during His risky gamble. Yet, Error wasn't as easygoing as He might've shown. Now, a supernova was grafted onto himself.

His monocle cracked and His infiltration failed.

After what felt like a long sleep, He woke up. However, instead of He Who Must Not Be Named, what met him was a figure...way above his brother/father combination.

"Huh?"

A mysterious figure was sitting casually inside of what looked like the exact copy of the Sefirah Castle. However, there were no chairs and table present, only a single throne emitting a crimson-gray fog. Twinkling stars, slithering creatures, countless eyes were displayed beyond the throne, as if being kept from disturbing the current matter.

"Who are you?", the figure asked.

"Heh. Did You keep me as a souvenir, Dear Fool?"

He figured he could talk at that moment. It was not because of His confidence, of course. Since He talked, it would mean that a conversation was possible. In front of the Lord of Mysteries, except for an Above the Sequence of the same status, who would, and could dare speak with Him without His blessings? One would not be able to see Him in personal unless he allows it, let alone speak with Him face to face.

"Souvenir? 'Dear Fool'? Ahahahaha. It's been a while since someone addressed me as such. Ah, truly a pity."

"Interesting. You are not Klein Moretti. Who are you, if I may ask?"

"PWAHAHA. Klein Moretti? No one would ask a God's name as a mortal, would they? Even as a former God yourself? Besides, I'm not a God. Calling me as one would be an insult. That's your third count."

The figure seems to be enjoying Their conversation. At this moment, Amon noticed something.

"I see. I thought my zealot brother failed. It turns out... I'm just a part of a consciousness, aren't I?"

Celestial approached Amon.

"Why are you so slow on the uptake? Pity that their Error is you," He paused.

"Grafting is quite convenient, don't you say?"

(A/N: At this point, LoM created an empty avatar and grafted the entirety of Amon's identity onto it, though lifeless, so now, he knows who amon is and everything about him.)

Amon turned to the side and answered, "Quite".

He saw an exact copy of himself, though lifeless. It was a dummy Amon, yet their only difference was that one was conscious while the other was unmoving.

"So now you have an idea of my identity. Now, who are you, if I may ask?", He repeated His question from earlier.

"My time... is before the First Epoch."

"I see.

"So You were from My father's time", he continued.

"Your father. Ahahaha, I see, I see. It's quite suffocating not knowing something despite having this power and status, you know. Now, everything's quite clear. No one's above fate indeed."

Amon didn't say anything. He just frowned. From the information available, he's in the Sefirah Castle of the Lord of Mysteries during the Pre-Epoch eras. He didn't have any idea what the last two statements mean.

"Still slow on the uptake? Oh, indeed. You don't have any means of knowing this information", He told Amon.

He continued,"This consciousness, this Me, is dying. I have a few days worth of life".

It was then that everything clicked for Amon. Why the Celestial called it fate...and why everything is clear.

"If you are dying, then who fought the previous God Almighty to death? The one whom my father is suppressing?"

Amon smiled. He knew the answer to his own question after all. He didn't continue on that topic. Instead, he asked, "How did I get here?".

Celestial didn't answer. He, however, brought a single crimson star and showed it to Amon. He smiled. Afterwards, the smile turned into a laugh.

"Ahahahahahahahaha."

Amon also smiled.

"This is quite exciting."

"Exciting, agreed. I pulled it in, wondering who it was as it was twinkling. It's you. And you should know why you have a connection with this era's Sefirah."

"So, it's all me?", Amon tried confirming.

"Yes. The one who continued My legacy, is You. You became this era's Lord of Mysteries, through me, through this event right now. And you, will also be fighting this era's God Almighty. Why you have a connection with this era's Sefirah Castle is because, for the latter parts of this period, the previous You owned the Castle", Celestial explained.

"When you mentioned your father, it clicked to me. I will die a few days from now. How come there will be a new God Almighty? The answer is simple. Because someone killed the current Him. Now, the mystery deepens, as one might ask 'who's that?'. Well, I answered it for you."

Celestial paused a bit to walk around. He then continued, "What a waste. I prepared candidates for my resurrection. They are currently being prepared, dreaming about their life while unknowingly being in a test. Once they wake up today, they'd be in another test right after. And now that I knew You, Your previous incarnation is within these candidates. She'll die tomorrow. And no. Once the series of tests are done, except you and the girl, no one would remember a thing. What they would remember would be the day before I summoned them. If they got out of the cocoons that is."

"Then I thank you for the kind gesture."

"You can't handle it with just a consciousness anyways. You'd need her to accommodate all of me."

"Send me to her current dream."

"You're pretty obedient for an Error."

"Well, you're pretty generous for an Above the Sequence. Do you know why I became an Error in the first place?"

"Indeed. Though it's a different path, a Lord of Mysteries is a Lord of Mysteries, whether its my era, or yours."

The conversation stopped. Amon turned his head up, looking at particularly nothing.

"Heh. It seems like our fight's not yet over, respected Mr. Fool. Let's meet again for a rematch in your consciousness."
