In the Wood Dynasty, there were many wise men, such as Master Sun and Abner Lane, who always regarded the Demon Clan as a major concern. Hence, they secretly accumulated strength, hoping that one day they could launch an attack to the northwest and drive the Demon Clan out of the Eastern Land, preferably out of the Eight Desolations World altogether.
Similarly, among the Demon Clan, there were some outstanding individuals who longed for and cherished the glory of their ancestors. They were constantly thinking about overthrowing the Wood Dynasty and allowing the Demon Clan to rule the land again.
Unfortunately, neither such humans nor such demons were the mainstream in the Wood Dynasty or the Nine Witch Demon Court. Most of the power holders in the two decadent regimes were busy plundering the people and, with the plundered money, indulging themselves in pleasure-seeking.
