Eric Reed, feeling exhausted, led Owen Bertram and the others back to George Estate. After finally finding an excuse to get rid of the others, he gathered his subordinates: "Did you report yesterday's news to Lord Prescott?"
The subordinates looked at each other.
"Did you report it?"
"I thought you did."
"I was watched closely and thought someone else would find the opportunity."
"There are ten of us; surely, not all of us failed to send the message?"
Listening to them, Eric Reed was almost furious: these useless fools! Everyone thought someone else had the chance to pass on the message, but in the end, it didn't get out.
"Sir, should we report to Lord Prescott now?"
Eric Reed glared at the fellow. He had already returned, so what was there to report? However, on second thought, since Owen Bertram and the others didn't gain much at Bamboo Slope, informing Lord Prescott in advance seemed unimportant.
