Not far from the Taoist Temple, there was a small stream - though it was still within five miles. Owen Bertram sneaked past the government officials' posts and came to the stream, releasing Little Loach.
Little Loach hadn't been in the water for several days and was already quite impatient.
It flicked its tail and flapped around a few times before settling comfortably in the water, stretching out its two long whiskers.
Owen Bertram instructed, "The journey is long, you better hurry."
Little Loach gave him a reassuring look and disappeared with a flick of its body.
This water network was all interconnected, so Owen Bertram was sure Little Loach would be able to return to the Rogue River.
He could attach his soul directly to Little Loach, but this time he needed to find the way, and his instincts in the water were far inferior to Little Loach's. If he were to go himself, he would probably not make it back to the Rogue River by daylight.
