[Theta Protocol Activated]
Eadwulf woke up to a voice that sounded as if it were shouting in his ear, bolting upright he began to look at his surroundings in a near blind panic.
Thankfully instead of seeing all black or perhaps a pair of pearly gates his surroundings were while dark, putting him at ease.
Taking in the room he was in he recognized a variety of medical equipment and a couple beds nearby, he appeared to be in a hospital ward and was lying in one of the patient beds draped in a medical gown.
Despite himself his first instinct was not to check possible threats or even to identify the source of the noise but was instead a miner panic about where his belongings where, while his clothes mattered little to him the watch within his shirt pocket was priceless to him.
As he began to scour his ward he noticed on a table sitting against the wall opposite to him was three things, a glass of water, what appeared to be folded up clothes and most importantly his golden watch. Sitting their as if ready to be presented to him, which they likely would have been he rationalized had he not woken up in what appears to be the middle of the night
Sliding out of the hospital bed he took a step to make is way over to the little table but instead fell directly on his face. "Oooooh that hurt!" he couldn't help but let out a groan but was quickly shut up he looked at himself closely for the first time since his awakening
Firstly, His wounds were that he gotten from the nightmare and sword to the stomach were completely healed aside from leaving multiple pink scars in the usual shape that accompanied getting a slash wound sown shut with stitches leaving some pretty cool looking claw marks over his chest, judging from how his skin was slightly dirty he likely had some bandages removed indicating he had been unconscious for a few days at least.
But of course one major thing had his attention from beginning to end of his little inspection, his leg was gone. From the thigh down was nothing but a stump, he didn't even have a knee as Chris had severed it just below the thigh.
Deciding to think about it later he began to crawl towards the little table holing his watch and after a minute or so of dragging himself across the floor he reached t and pulled himself up enough that he could snatch it from on top of the clothes.
Leaning himself against the wall and holding the watch in his lap he inspected it "god dammit… that fucking cat!" he whispered as loudly as he dared, his voice full of venom. The watch a one giant gash on its back right between the initials V and F, nearly severing it in half and exposing its insides
Looking closer he noticed something that surprised him, the watch didn't have any mechanisms and was instead hollow, "what's the point in having a watch that doesn't work, unless it was containing something?" he reasoned and began to lean against the wall as to stand up on is one leg
Gaining his balance was surprisingly difficult now that his other leg wasn't acting as a counterweight for balance, but he figured it out and had one hand against the wall just in case he lost his footing. He began to inspect the table to check if anything had fallen out when he had picked it up but there was nothing
He couldn't help but feel a little lost and frown, muttering to himself "then what the hell was in it?"
[Elizabeth]
"Huh!? Who's there!" he tried to turn around but instead fell over onto his behind with his back against the wall. He began searching around the dim room but found no one, however despite him being certain there was nobody near him the voice sounded in his ear
[Unless the host is referring to myself there is nobody within the vicinity]
This Time he was able to disconcert that the voice was female and appeared to be…. British? as the words that the voice had said began to sink in hell only got more and more confused "who are you and what is the host you refer to" he couldn't help but silently prey that he hadn't been infected with some sort of alien parasite!
[Ah how rude of me!] surprisingly the voice sounded rather flustered [my name is Elizabeth I am an artificial intelligence that consists of over 1 billion nanomachines, these nanomachines were housed within the small pocket watch that you are currently holding within your left hand.]
"I hate to be rude miss Elizabeth but what does that have to do with me?" he couldn't help but wonder how the hell it was possible to bind AI to nanomachines, that would have to mean that not only that each and every one of the 1 billion machines needed to have both a supercomputer attach to it but also needed to be connected to each other or some form of computer hive mind perhaps?
[Your assumption while not fully correct does have multiple truths within it, as expect of a ######!]
"A what?" the voice had turned to complete gibberish when it had tried to complement him for some reason. "Also answer my question!"
[Oh Right! When the watch was damaged, I was freed and according to Theta protocol was ordered to bind myself to you]
"Why?"
[Two reasons host, the first is that of self-preservation as to avoid the destruction of myself and the knowledge I possess and the second reason I am not aloud to explain or mention until you have watched the "introduction" as stated by Theta Protocol]
[Do you wish to view the tutorial?]
"Sure, I guess?" Eadwulf almost immediately regretted his decision as he felt himself losing consciousness "oh for Christ's sake…Again!?"
And for the third time in recent memory everything went black.
