'Is she seriously chasing after me?' Jayce thought as he looked at the blue dot on his map following behind the horde of monsters pursuing him.
He thought that after throwing her out of the way, she would use that opportunity to separate from the supernaturals, either helping those lucky enough to survive the wave of monsters or seeking reinforcements.
Jayce could see her current status so he knew full well how exhausted she was and that she could barely stay standing. Yet, he wasn't surprised by her willpower to stay conscious just the decision to run after him.
They had trained almost every day side by side under the supervision of Bella and during that entire time, she had been able to keep up with him. Of course, Jayce's training was much more intense than hers but that didn't mean she was slacking off.
