With the barrier set around the Colosseum destroyed by Jayce, the hundreds of thousands of people who were trapped at the two entrances were finally able to stampede out, thinking that they had left the worst behind them only to find out it was worse on the outside.
If there were any council members left inside the Colosseum, they would have more than likely helped safely escort the people out, yet among the hundreds of thousands of people who were running out of the Colosseum, not a single one of them was with the student council.
With the final match of the tournament starting, most of the council members were no longer required to be there. There were mages stronger than them on the sidelines and they didn't have anyone else to accompany as the last two participants were in the arena.
