'Jesus, that took way too long.' Jayce said to himself as his head flopped onto the desk.
Mr. Norris had given him a single assignment, write a paper about the chapter of the text he had covered in his morning class.
The only problem was that the chapter he covered was over a hundred pages.
Jayce instantly doubted that he had gone over that chapter in a single period, especially when they were only over an hour long.
The only reason he could think of why Mr. Norris gave him the assignment was purely out of spite.
Until he had finished reading and wrote a paper that showed he understood the context, he wasn't allowed to leave.
He couldn't use the bathroom or even get out of his seat till that paper was finished.
When he tried half-assing the paper, Mr. Norris didn't even glance at the paper as he used fire magic to burn it to a crisp.
"Do it again, and I expect full effort, Mr. Price."
