"So tell me, what fucking mess did you make and what does that have to do with the werewolves."
Rose didn't know what to do. If she didn't answer, Jayce would probably kill her but if she did, he might kill her out of anger.
While she felt guilty for what happened to him, she didn't want to die.
"Guess I will have to force you to answer," Jayce said as he raised his free hand toward Rose.
However, at the last second, a phone rang. Seeing how the phone in his pocket wasn't vibrating meant it was Rose's.
"Pick it up and put it on speaker."
Jayce's first thought was that the phone call was some kind of check-in she had to do.
If she didn't answer, they would assume something had happened and send someone to find out.
With the phone on speaker, he would also be able to listen in on the conversation in case Rose tried anything.
