Throughout the cold and windy night, Alisa suddenly woke up from having a bad dream. Everyone else was asleep so she had the opportunity to move freely without being spotted. Her legs trembled when she stood on her feet. Her head felt heavy while the rest of her body felt weak. Inhaling deeply was all she could do to calm herself down from her nightmare. The image of the two thieves that broke into her house eight years ago was burnt into her mind. Their savage glare beneath their masks gave Alisa shivers when she thinks about it.
"What's wrong with me?"
"Why am I even here?"
"Is being here really what I want? I still have one good eye left" Alisa said to herself. Alisa began to doubt herself and why she's at Apsychos Island. She relived the night when her mother died in her dream. Almost everything was accurate. Thieves barging in her room, being held at gunpoint, parents being asleep. Everything was going according to Alisa's memory until something unbelievable happened. "Dad! Please save us".
Ronald Matar took the guns from the robbers who couldn't move. He placed one gun on the counter then aimed the other one at Alisa's mother. "Honey, watch where you aim that thing," said the mother.
"You're not going to take Alisa away from me. The thieves killed you tonight. That's the reality I'll create" said Ronald. He shot his beloved three times in her chest without hesitation.
POW! POW! POW!
Her mother fell on the floor with her life stripped away. Ronald looked at his daughter and said "You will forget everything tonight. Don't ever show yourself again. Bring my other daughter back".
Alisa held her head confused and went outside for some fresh air. Outside was very cold but it didn't bother her nearly as much as her nightmare. Never could she imagine her father killing her mother. "Normally I would write off my bad dreams but this one is different. My dad has the ability to control memories. I can't treat this like nothing" said Alisa stressed out. At times like these, she wished she could communicate with her other persona.
"For years my father has been hiding things from me. He locked me up in a big room with a bathroom and a closet for years. Would a loving father do such a thing? I'm starting to question if Ronald is who he thinks he is" sighed Alisa.
Woof! Woof! Woof!
Alisa turned around to see her dog running towards her. "Ray! I hope I'm not the one that woke you" said Alisa. Ray jumped on Alisa's head and licked her forehead repeatedly. Alisa sat on top of a tree and looked up at the sky. She depended on Ray to distract her from her accelerating heartbeat and cold sweat. For the rest of the night, Alisa and Ray sat on a big tree branch playing with each other.
When the sun came up Alisa entered through the cave then went underground.
Woof! Woof! Woof!
Ray suddenly ran off somewhere barking angrily. Ray ran towards the Private Room's door. Alisa followed him to the door where she saw the sign KEEP OUT!
Ray wanted to go inside so bad he started jumping up to the doorknob trying to turn it. Alisa tried turning the knob herself but the door was locked. "Ray, the sign says keep out. Let's go" said Alisa. Ray ignored Alisa and continued to jump on the knob. Alisa lift Ray off the floor and tried to calm him down. That's when Alisa's nose started to twitch. The scent of stew beef drives Ray mad. It's his favorite meal. "Someone's eating your favorite food. If you want stew beef so bad I'll cook you some. Relax. I thought this was important" said Alisa.
Ray left the door in peace and the two made it back to their room. Alisa opened her door and saw a surprised face sitting on her bed. He had green hair with a mole on his right cheek. "I've been dying to know. How did you lose your right eye?" asked the boy.
"Why are you in my room? That's not nice" said Alisa nervously.
"Name is Fei Fong in case you've forgotten. Wanna hang out?" asked Fei.
Woof! Woof! Woof!
Ray bit Fei's left leg harshly. "Is this your dog!? Teach him manners will ya" said Fei in pain. Alisa sat beside Fei depressed. Even though she tried to take her mind off her horrible nightmare it still haunted her. The sight of her father shooting her mother is horrifying. Fei noticed the disturbed look on her face. Tears formed in her eyes but none of it ran down her cheeks. Her eyes widen as she stared at the floor. "Did you lose someone?" Fei asked. Fei knew the sight all too well. The day his mother died and the day his sister was permanently hospitalized brought him grief. There was hardly a happy day for him.
"I dreamt something I shouldn't have," said Alisa depressingly.
Your bad dream could be a message from your partner. The person who you are hiding. You might never know. Sounds cool if you ask my opinion" said Fei cheerfully.
"A message?" Alisa repeated. She thought of that possibility but didn't want to accept it. Alisa's memories clearly show that her hands landed the killing blow on her mother, not her father. "If I confront dad about this then he might rearrange my memories as he sees fit. Is the risk worth it?" wondered Alisa. Fei pinched Alisa's cheeks and told her to smile.
"What good will mourning over a nightmare do? Go have some fun. The past has already been done. Focusing on the past halts progression. Even if it comes to haunt you just deal with it. You aren't doing anyone any favors by stressing yourself" said Fei.
Fei couldn't begin to understand Alisa's struggle. More than anything she's confused. "Having to question my memories like this is your fault dad. Which is true the dream or my memory?" thought Alisa seriously.
Woof! Woof! Woof!
Alisa nodded in agreement. "True. I should trust my father for now. He's the one that took care of me all these years. Even though he locked me up for eight years he swore to repay me" said Alisa reassuringly.
"Huh, if I was your father you wouldn't be in this competition for sure. Killing isn't against the rules so there's no way I would have let you take part" said Fei bluntly. Fei's view of Ronald changed drastically after hearing one sentence. "Even though he locked you up for eight years!" Fei shouted.
"Is this girl not putting the pieces together? Ronald wouldn't do something so cruel to someone he loves" Fei thought. An idea popped into his head that could make Alisa less confused. "Your other persona. It's possible to speak to her. That's part of your gift right?" suggested Fei.
"I tried that already. I can't do it willingly" replied Alisa.
"I'm going to help. You are clearly a confused individual that yearns for the truth whatever that may be. Give me your palm" said Fei happily. Alisa pushed out her left hand towards Fei. He rubbed the center of her palm and asked "How does it feel? Does it feel good?"
Fei slightly rubbed his thumbs on her palm in a circular motion. Alisa or Ray had no clue what he was doing. "It feels alright," said Alisa. Fei pressed on her palm a little harder after that. He applied more pressure to his thumb every two seconds. Alisa started to notice the difference in Fei's rub. It started to feel rough instead of soft.
"I don't understand"
Alisa watched as Fei rubbed his hands around her palm but suddenly he stopped. It took her by surprise. Fei rammed his finger through her hand in a fraction of a second. "Hey! What!" shouted Alisa. Alisa looked at her palm confused than ever before. She expected to see a hole in the center but there wasn't any. Her hand was completely fine. "Hahahaha, it was a joke. You fell for my illusion. It took years to perfect it. My speed tricked you" teased Fei. Alisa's left eye changed from blue to red and so did her personality. Her sad and confused demeanor turned cold and calm.
"You almost gave us a heart attack," said Lisa grumpily. Fei suddenly felt like leaving the room just by sitting next to Alisa. He stood up shaking in his boots. "Holy shit you're not what I was expected. I can see your murderous intent as clear as day. Why do you want to kill me so badly? Asked Fei nervously.
Alisa looked him in the eye and replied "You're competition are you not? Who's to tell that you aren't going to kill me in the second round"?
"Don't have to worry. I'm a lady's man. I wouldn't harm you" said Fei strongly. Fei looked around for a pen and book and asked Alisa some questions. He wrote down the questions and gave Alisa the book to answer them.
"What is your existence?"
"What do you think about Alisa?"
"Did you send Alisa a message through dreams?"
"How can she communicate with you freely?"
"What's Ronald Matar like?"
Those were the questions Fei wrote down. Alisa thought long and hard before answering any of the questions. After she was finished she stepped on Fei's shadow paralyzing him in the process. Fei couldn't move a muscle. "I can't move!" Fei panicked in his mind.
"You are a good help to my friend Alisa. Since it will cause confusion I'll take the name as Lisa from now on" sighed Lisa. She stepped off of Fei's shadow then warned him "Your overconfidence is your downfall. Your speed is powerless to me. Don't forget". Fei left the room after receiving the warning.
That brief moment gave Fei a wake-up call. "My speed isn't enough!? That's the first" he said disappointedly. Lisa stayed in her room for the entire day without eating or drinking. She didn't even have to use the bathroom. Whenever Ronald knocks on Lisa's door she ignored him. When the day ended Lisa's eyes went back to being blue. Alisa gained control over her body. The first thing she noticed was the book in her right hand.
"I didn't have this one me a while ago. This means Fei successfully dragged out the other side of me. I hope she wrote down something" said Alisa. She opened the book and saw five questions. All five were answered in paragraphs. "Lisa had a lot to write about" Alisa read out loud. That sentence started the page at the very top.
"Lisa? That's the name she's going by. Her existence really is special" said Alisa.
She read the first question. "What is your existence?" That's something Alisa has been dying to know.
"Two Souls in One Body. This came to be because of the solitude you felt during the eight years you were isolated for. You were so lonely she was blessed with the gift to create a friend. That's how I like to put it anyways. I'm the result of Alisa's gift. People call it MPD but it's different. I'm a living person without a body to cling onto so I'm sharing with Alisa. You already know this though. I've told you many times"
The second question was "What do you think about Alisa?" Alisa never thought of that before. She thinks of Lisa as a big sister that doesn't hesitate to do anything.
"Alisa you are sad to watch. It gets my blood boiling when I see you acting like a fool. Whenever someone attacks you if I don't intervene they will get their way. It pisses me off! There are good things to say about you though. I envy your fragile nature. You're a sweet girl that's too good to be left alone. Your big sister Lisa is here to help" Alisa read out loud. A wide smile crept up on Alisa's race after reading the paragraph. It's hard to tell what Lisa is thinking because of her expressions. She doesn't have any. She constantly keeps on a straight face no matter the situation. Alisa moved on to the next question.
"Did you send Alisa a message through dreams?" She stopped reading and stared at the handwriting for over a minute. By glance, she knew the answers were in her handwriting while the questions looked different. She assumes that Fei was the one that wrote down the questions. "These are definitely my handwriting so they are trustworthy. Lisa wouldn't lie to me" said Alisa. She desperately wanted to know the answer to this question but a part of her was afraid to find out the truth. Her father killing her mother is something she rather not accept. "It's better if Lisa or I did it. Not dad. For as long as I remember dad is a true gentleman to my mother".
She read the answer Lisa wrote down with her hands trembling as she held the book. "You won't like what I'm about to say. What you dreamt were my memories? What I saw happened the night your mother died. I didn't mean for you to dream about my past. I'm sorry. You don't have to accept it. Your mind is already a confusing mess as it is. Not knowing what's true or not because of your father's abilities must be tough. I saw dad pull the trigger in Richelle's chest three times. He tampered with your memories after that but my memories weren't troubled. Your dad's a deadbeat" Alisa read out loud.
.....
She continued to the fourth question Fei wrote down. "How can she communicate with you freely?" Alisa read. "When we were younger, around 11 years old we used to speak to each other when you're asleep but that doesn't seem to work anymore. The only way I can think of is what we're doing right now. Writing in a book will have to suffice for now. I remember when you and I spoke two days ago in the forest. The Reaper was about to kill you if I didn't intervene. That's the first time in a long time since we've talked to each other face to face. There must be a clue there. Use your head and search for it" Alisa read.
.....
"What's Ronald Matar like?" Alisa asked herself. Before she read Lisa's answer she decided to give it a try. "A man that normally hides his Genius from others. He cares little about what other people think and is an expert in communication in every language. I'm not sure if he ever love before because he's full of contradictions. One point he'll give you everything you want and then suddenly BAAAM! You're locked up in your room for years" said Alisa. She read the answer Lisa gave and it was surprisingly identical to what Alisa said at the beginning. Lisa added "He hates my gut specifically. He claims I'm a monster and too dangerous to be out in the open but that's an excuse he made to isolate us. We are living proof that he killed Richelle the night the thieves did. You understand now".
Alisa slammed the book closed and sighed. She miraculously cleared her kind of all thoughts and smiled. "How should I remedy this?" thought Alisa.
Woof! Woof!
