"Edmund Norte-Constelacion jr.!"
Edmond raised his head towards the familiar voice.
a hulking man standing at the classroom corridor grinned at him. His name is Raul Berdugo-Bertud but everybody calls him "the butcher."
"Wazzup Solomon Grundy", Edmond replied playfully.
the clan of Berdugo-Bertud can easily be identified by their dark leathery skin and arms and legs of braided muscle.
they are known for their strength and bullet proof skin.
Raul had an unfortunate accident when he was young which left half of his face deformed.
His smile seems to indicate that all that is in the past now.
"hurry up or we'll be late. we dont want Professor Kapretan to be mad at us." Raul chided.
The inside of the classroom looked like an outdoor theater.
it certainly is bigger inside than it looks outside.
it is only normal that the concept of space doesn't apply to the halls of the Byentan High School. Which is the best school of magic ín the Philippines and arguably, in the whole world.
Edmond and Raul are Senior students and both can hardly wait to graduate.
All 365 students are seated and comfortably chatting with their seatmates when a dark shadow crept over the podium.
a hush swept the room as the shadow formed into an outline of a giant.
the misty shadow slowly materialized into a bearded Kapre smoking a huge cigar.
"Good morning class" professor Kapretan's voice boomed.
"Good morning professor Kapretan", everyone replied in unison.
Professor Kapretan is teaching the subject of Singular Consciousness.
Students are expected at the end of the course to detect, avoid and in theory, create Singular Consciousness.
"A Kapre teaching Singular Consciousness", Edmond mused.
Professor Kapretan is indeed unique. Kapre's often use brute strength and a bit of magic mostly involving illusions to confuse their prey. it is very rare to see a Kapre use deep magic, and to be very good at that.
Despite his imposing figure and his deep booming voice, Professor Kapretan is really a gentle giant who projects his jovial energy to the extent of playfulness.
Time flew swiftly and before they knew it, it was time to go.
