It was a normal night in Neo-Tokyo. Akihiko Takahashi was going home after buying groceries and complaining about the prices.

-How did the food get this expensive? In my world, you could buy an entire apartment with the money I spent on these sausages. And it's not even real meat! It's synthetic! Seriously, what does one have to do in these times to afford a living? I barely can cover food and rent and I work 12 hours a day!

As he was complaining about the expensive life in Neo-Tokyo, a strange man approached him.

-Hey kid, do you have any spare change?

-Sorry mister, I am as poor as you.

-In that case.. said the strange man, showing his high-end energy sword, you must be quite rich. Give me everything you've got.

Akihiko looked around for other people, but there was no one around.

-Sure, take my wallet! said the boy giving the strange man his wallet.

The man took the wallet, looked inside him, and froze. After a few seconds, he said.

-You know what, I am done mugging people. I don't want to be a bad guy anymore, I want to be a singer!

-Um sure... replied Akihiko, taking his wallet back.

-Take care kid!

-You too mister!

And with that, their encounter came to an end. The strange man walked away but stoped after a few steps to look at the moon.

-I hope I can become a great singer... in my next life.

Those were his last words before he was sliced into a million pieces. In the place he stood, only a pool of blood remained. Meanwhile, Akihiko was continuing his interior monologue about how hard is life in Neo-Tokyo.

-Not only did I spend a lot of money today, but now my sword is bloody as well!

This was just an ordinary day in the new life of Akihiko Takahashi, a former resident of Tokyo, now living in Neo-Tokyo, a parallel version of the Tokyo we all know and love.
