Chapter 7 - Chapter 6: An invitation

The spirit is a reflection of our body. Therefore the spirit would look the same as they did before they died. An old man as an old man, a wounded girl as a wounded girl. Their scars won't fade and their cuts won't heal, because the spirit has no ability to heal.

Her eyes widened in genuine surprise and a grin then soon forms on her face. She snapped her fingers and darkness consumed her before revealing anew. My eyes can still see her spirit, yet this time, her body fits as her vessel. Slowly I wasn't able to discern which is spirit and which is not as the two appeared to have merged in my sight. It was a load of headache for me to absorb.

"That was interesting. I made sure to be flawless on my disguise, perhaps I was too aggressive?"

No, well, Lady Rhea has a tendency to invite me. Be it drunk or not. Higher chances is that she would be drunk. Geez that woman stopped caring about image.

"Perhaps, it's something special? C'mon, answer me...don't make a lady get bored."

Slowly she moved forward, moving her hips obscenely while making the puppy eyes.

"A man with a mysterious air is more attractive, no? I'll keep you guessing."

"Not when the answer is already obvious, the man would only look stupid.", she rebuked, stopping on her steps after noticing the chains manifesting on the ground.

"Try it, I'm thirsting to know how it would feel."

"No, I won't. Not yet, atleast."

"Hoh, what a gentleman. Then I'll make the first move.", she answered. A dense violet flow of wind seems to be gathering at the palm of her hands. She's charging something.

"Weaken!"

The chains then crawled up to her legs then slowly reached to her shoulders and binded her down. The feeling of weakness hits her and her knees were about to give out, but her lips formed a smile.

What? No, imp or not it should still have an effect on her.

"Hmm, satisfactory, it makes for a good foreplay. I assume you haven't used it on an intellectual being."

The chains?! It's getting pulled out?

She slowly stands up, her knees were shaking but slowly she regained her posture. The chains' pull became stronger. With all my might I tried to pull the chains, but eventually I hear the metal crack and one strong pull it broke off. It wasn't as if the chains are brittle by nature, it just that the concept of pulling away the spirit from the body was broken. By that, the demon successfully broke away from the curse.

"What a shame. You see, humans, demons or whoever that can think have a will of its own, they can power through anything with just will alone. It's a major lesson taught to us from the last war."

Whatever she was gathering seemed to be done, a pinkish trail of light swirls around her hands.

I need to run!

I try to move away from the alley, but before I could even step away she grabbed ahold of my collar and pulled me close.

"And you know what? I'm an expert in manipulating the will of people, especially through lust and love~!"

The pinkish trail then climbed to my body, like a snake curling to me, reaching to my ears like it is whispering.

"Fall. In. Love. With. Me.", she seductively whispers to my ear. A chill runs to my spine after hearing voice and I shivered. She gives me a kiss on the cheek before pulling herself away.

"Let's go! I've been dying to have you in the Abyssal Kingdom!", she said before taking a hold of my hand.

"Err, no? I didn't agree to that. Weaken!", I changed after pulling away my hand. The chains that broke off still exists in my palm. I can feel it, I can still get a hold of it! Nevertheless it took an instant to bond itself together and it was prepared to grabbed her down once again.

I just need to pin her down for a moment, and that moment is enough for me to run.

"What?! Hey! Wait--"

Before she could even break the chains again I dashed out of the alley, running straight to the town's gate. If I reach the knight's camp I would be safe. She can't handle the knights, that has to be a reason why she prefer going with a disguise.

The crowd was still thick despite being night, the employers of shops opened at day have finally finished their shift. It was hard for me to move through this crowd, but eventually I was able to exit the town.

"I said, wait! I can't believe you! You really went and ditched on our little date."

"Date? You were about to take me to the Abyssal continent!"

"Argh, I can't believe that didn't work. It should always work! What really are you?!", she shouted in confusion. Her persona from earlier dissipates as she becomes flustered.

"A-ahem. Nevermind that, you are going to that camp of knights, am I right? I rather not have you do that."

"Then are you going to use force? That's the only way."

"You would have seen me on the front lines if I could! Stop running, now that my charm didn't work I am telling you I don't really have any other options. I...just--I just have a proposal to make."

She's getting exhausted. That's too fast. I don't really have anything to listen for, but I don't feel right ignoring someone.

"Fine, but just stay where you are.", I answered, stopping on my tracks. We are now outside the town, only the two of us are in here. A watchman would see us, but that would be her risk and not mine.

"You're kind, I like that part of you. You think we can still continue our date?", she said while panting, catching up her breath. Her ample bosom moves about as she take deep breaths.

"Weaken. Now out with it, I'll listen to what you're supposed to say."

Feeling the presence of the chains, I once again pulled it out and binded her spirit. She is now in an exhausted state, I assume she doesn't have the will to fight back for now.

"I'm Lucina, succubus. As you can see I don't excel in combat, but the Abyssal King ordered me to lead these disgusting imps to battle. I was only watching from afar and the knights were exceptional. But you, there's something about you that we need."

"Is this going to be a love letter? Spare me from those details."

"You're a Necromancer, aren't you? These binding feeling can't lie. They're usually lonesome chaos incarnates, insane and blinded with power. But you're still sane, the Abyssal King believes someone like you can be the key that would help us. Come with me and we'll explain in great detail the grand plan the Abyssal King has in store for this world."

The Abyssal King? The abyss brought ruin to the world once, according to the legends. The hero defeated the terrifying king and elected the position to his demonic comrade whom he met on his journey and peace was brought back to the Abyss. A number of generations since then and the Abyss is now planning for another conquest?

"I have no reason to join your cause. What good will it bring in assisting the Abyss in conquering the world? I can only see tears and blood being spilled."

"You don't understand it yet. The Abyssal King has a grander plan than a simple conquest. However, I suppose you are still not willing to hear the details. Fine, see for yourself first and see how this world would go go ruin."

She takes a deep breathe and then unleashed a wave of energy, pushing the wind alongside the bursting force. Most importantly, with just one pulse the chains broke, this time into pieces. Making it more difficult to bond it again than to make another.

"Be careful not to get yourself killed. You're siding with the ones who will serve as your executioners. Until then, consider my proposal, cutie.", Lucina added before her wings bursts forth from her back, giving it powerful flaps before she ascends to the sky. In just a short moment of flight, she was gone from my sight.

What is the Abyssal King's planning? No, more importantly, whatever it is, it would surely result in blood getting spilled.
