Fabian killed 10 horned rabbits that day. He was very happy when he was able to kill ten of them alone. From what he had heard from other hunters killing these rabbits was a very tedious task because of how agile they are. And it usually took about 3-4 hunters to take a whole family of horned rabbits down. But today he alone was able to accomplish this amazing feat. This made him very happy.
But after Fabian killed these rabbits, he suddenly realized his blunder. Originally he needed to kill these rabbits because he needed to drink their blood. But not only did he decapitate some of them he didn't have any sort of bowl or something similar to hold the blood of these creatures. What he should do now?
Fabian was feeling all this time. And now realizing his blunder, he didn't know what else to do? But then closed his eyes and started thinking. He then realized that he was not feeling very hungry now. So he could travel for some time before he needs to eat someone. So he decided that he should wrap these rabbits and take them to a human establishment nearby.
These rabbits would get him a decent amount of money and then in that settlement he just needs to find adult them. That way his he would soon reach his peak condition then. So he picked up all the rabbits. He fist gutted them all and started removing their fur. Then brought a long stick and hung the flesh of those rabbits on the stick.
After doing that, Fabian started following the river. And it didn't take him long enough to find a human establishment. But that human establishment was nothing that he had ever seen before….
While walking by the river, Fabian finally started spotting some smoke in the distance. He was very happy when he saw that smoke. He started running towards the smoke. While running towards the smoke, Fabian came out of the forest.
As he came out of the forest he was greeted with green plain lands. He had heard that there are lands in this world where there are no trees and grass reigns supreme there. But it was the first time for him to see plain lands. When Fabian came to plain lands, he saw that the smoke that he was able to see was still some distance away.
So he started running again. As he was running towards the smoke, he was looking here and there as he was excited to be running on such a plain terrain. But it was then he spotted something that got him curious. From between the plains, there was a pathway or a road. Curious about the road Fabian ran towards the road.
There he saw that the whole road had plain rocks embedded on them. This made the road smooth and plain. He had read somewhere that roads are made in such a way in big cities because it makes it easy for carts and carriages to travel. When he read that he thought that it was very innovative.
As a man who lived in a village most of his life, he knew what kind of help these kinds of roads could give. In his village, most of the horse-drawn carts would get stuck in muddy pathways, and then it would take a lot of people just to free that cart. It was the sort of thing that happened from time to time in their village.
But the problem was that cutting these rocks and finally embedding them on the roads took a lot of manpower and money. That is why only people from big cities could afford something like this…
Fabian then saw that this road would lead him to where he could see smoke. So he started walking by the road. And this time Fabian was walking rather than running because he was now very concerned about his whereabouts.
Originally he didn't know where he was. But seeing that road and land with snow, Fabian was starting to get a feeling that he was a long way from his village. He had learned a lot about the people of the cities from the gossiping merchants and drunks of the village. That is why he was a little bit concerned.
He had never left Boonie village all of his life. Thus he did not know the ins and out of city life. From what he had heard, the people of the city are not kind. Not only they all are rich, but they all are heartless people. And the most terrifying that he heard was the fact that the cities are very terrifying people.
He had heard the people of the city can topple mountains and do stuff that people like cannot comprehend. He had at first dismissed these things like rumors and hogwash. But the previous two days of his life had taught him that everything that he heard about the people of the city might be true.
Seeing the situation he was in Fabian was sure that this road will lead him to the city. There if he had to hunt then he had to be very careful. After all, he was a demon. If his identity is revealed somehow then he would be in a lot of trouble there.
But while walking Fabian started thinking that if he indeed goes into the city and if somehow his identity is revealed then he would be in a lot of trouble. So Fabian started thinking about whether going to a city would be a good idea or not.
But as he was going, Fabian could feel that his hunger was growing. Irritated that he didn't have any other way to get past this situation, Fabian started increasing his pace of walking. He had to go to the city to hunt there. There was no way around it.
After a few minutes of walking, Fabian started seeing a very big city in a distance. As he saw the sheer size of the city he was amazed as well scared as he was venturing towards an unknown place…
