Chapter 1 - Prologue- The beginning of everything

In the dead of night with only the full moon as light, a baby boy was laying in a basket enveloped in blankets. A knock, two, then three resounded in the absolute, eerie silence. A figure then took one last look at the baby and ran. They ran into the alleyway to never be seen again.

However, they did not seem to notice or acknowledge a very shady newcomer who just came back from who knows where. This character saw everything though, and as soon as the first figure set down their burden before fleeing, they rushed over to get a look. They picked up the little bundle and walked inside. Going up stairs in the pitch blackness that surrounded the two, seemed an easy task for the older.

Third door to the right, on the third landing, opened. A candle lit clumsily revealing the pair's features. The creature was a male with a scholarly air about him with odd, blond strands flaring about seeming to have a mind of their own. He looked down at the human fledgling only to be startled with two all-knowing, seemingly cunning black eyes. Those eyes, although darker than a back alleyway, seemed to hold a thousand secrets held within almost translucent stars.

It was at this moment he knew. He knew this baby was an anomaly. He knew this baby was meant for a future of both hardship and exhaustion. He knew the baby is not simple nor normal even in this world of elfs, demons, humans, dwarves, and other's. He knew all this and yet… And yet he couldn't find it in himself to chuck him out in the cold. In fact, the longer he looked, the more he felt the need to protect this seemingly-innocent being, ultimately making him a target.

But, being honest, who would dare challenge this man besides his love, 'friends', idiots, and perhaps this child before him? Sighing, he looked out the church window only to find a full moon and an illusion of a lion looking back. Thus he named the child, Aku Luan, meaning moon lion.
