"THE INTERNATIONAL CLASS'S TEACHER?!" Lance and Vivian shot up from their chairs, dropping all the folders and papers on their lap on the floor. Upon seeing their papers scatter onto the floor, they both groaned in sync before turning their collective attention towards me.
"Nico, this guy's an actual genius. I know I say I'm a genius all the time but he's the real deal." Lance exclaimed in awe.
"He was mentored by Professor Caroline Adara and at the young age of 14 he became the youngest person ever to have an Augmentation Theory published by Iridium." After saying this, Vivian waded through all the sprawled papers and folders and grabbed my hand.
"Your paper on Augmentation Theory and the Analysis of the Soul was the best scientific paper I've ever read. You are an idol of this modern age." She rapidly shook my hand.
"Yeah, glad you liked it." I said as I slowly pulled away my hand.
"Hey since you're so smart, mind helping us out on our course plans?" I overheard a voice say from behind Vivian.
I leaned to the side to see who spoke up, and saw Nico standing up with a couple of multicolored folders in his hands. He glanced at the miscellaneous papers on the floor and looked back up at me.
"As you can see, we could use a little help."
"Uh, I actually have some studying of my own I have to do-"
"Oh you can do that later." Vivian said as she grabbed my arm and dragged me towards their study circle.
Lillias pulled up a chair and placed it next to her as Vivian did a little twirl in excitement.
"With you here, our lives will get so much easier." Vivian said as she sat me down in the chair.
"Thanks in advance." I heard Lance say as he started pulling out the papers he wanted to go over.
Before I could even interject, they were all already reading out their lesson plans for the next day, though I could barely make anything they were saying because they were all talking at once. Though I didn't want to help them, my body seemed to move on its own as I my brain remained in a state of shock.
'These people, are teachers?'
Even though I was in a completely new environment where I'd teaching people that would later determine the fate of the world, this was the first thing to surprise me all day.
That wasn't an achievement nor an accomplishment.

"Oh, I see. That's a very smart way to organize your lessons!" Lillias exclaimed in excitement as she furiously scribbled on her notebook.
"Yeah, that's why folders were invented." I said coarsely.
"This would've definitely helped me freshman year of college," She said as she grabbed all of the notes she took down and separated them into the folders I had created for her.
"I remember I just had one large stack of papers and every time I had an assignment due I'd have to shuffle through all of them to find the one page I was looking for."
"Hah, sounds like something you would do."
"Hmm? Did you say something? It sounded like you mumbled something-"
"More importantly, didn't you say you'd show me how you'd stay consistent with your organization methods without relapsing to your old ways? Show me."
"Yes teacher!" She instantly disregarded her previous thoughts and began to describe to me the various methods she would use to stay organized with her coursework.
I glanced over at the other three, who had brought their chairs together so they could talk to each other without being loud and bothering me. Something that they didn't seem to understand is that it wasn't their talking that was loud, it was the snickering and laughter that came afterwards that made me want to tape all of their mouth's closed. They asked me to help, yet when I actually tried to teach them their attention span plummeted into the floor.
I wanted to help them in a quick and concise manner so that I could actually do some of my own work, but by the time I finally finished organizing and improving Lillias's lesson plan, the gleaming moon had already passed its apex. I had managed to spend most of the night helping these people with THEIR course work without having a single moment to work on my own coursework; they were that disorganized.
It's mind-boggling because these people are teaching the future of our country, the future of our planet, yet they're so incompetent that I wouldn't even be surprised if they didn't know how to make their bed in the morning.
The room was quiet besides the occasional chuckles that came from the four idiots in front of me echoing throughout the library. I needed to get out of here as soon as possible, because even though idiocy wasn't contagious I could feel myself losing brain cells every single moment I was near them. I slumped back into the chair behind me and rubbed my temples.
'Katalina, why have you forsaken me? I feel like I'm dealing with grade schoolers.'
I leaned up in my chair.
"So, do you guys need any more help?"
"No, I think we're good," Vivian said as she put down her folder. "Thanks."
"You are a lifesaver." Nico gave me a thumbs up.
"Alright, then I will take my leave." I stood up from my seat. "It's getting late and I want to get some rest before classes tomorrow. Goodnight."
"Ok, Mr. Dr. Harris. Have a nice night." Lance joked as I started to walk away. As I neared the doorway to leave, I glanced backwards at the four teachers and stared at them for a couple of moments. The circle was a little ways away so I could barely make out faces, but I could just tell they were all smiling. All of a sudden, a cascade of laughter and incoherent yells echoed out from their tiny circle. The sounds of their happiness however, only intensified my desire to dash towards the exit.
I quickly exited the library to try and escape the noise, but the sounds of laughter only seemed to follow me as I walked down the long narrow hallway. While joy and cheer radiated from the library behind me, I could not be in a more opposite mood. Just the mere thought of that rambunctious group made me feel furious. I was constantly annoyed by their inability to stay on task, I was held up in my own studies due to their incompetence, and I was deprived of any actual learning I could have done throughout the night.
Seriously, I hated those idiots.
I continued to walk towards the boy's dormitories until a beam of light temporarily blinded me. I covered my eyes instinctively and looked towards the light source, only to find myself standing in front of the school's main entrance.
The bustling city of New Ragna was uncharacteristically quiet at this time of night; a perfect opportunity for me to get some fresh air.
I pulled out my teacher's badge and walked towards the security scanner. As my body entered its proximity, a quiet beep rang out from the scanner and a flurry of red lines and dots projected itself onto my body. After two seconds of scanning me, the scanner quickly switched to the badge in my hand.
-Biometric Scan Complete. Badge Scan Complete. Hello Grayson Harris.
-Unlocking Doors Now.
The scanner switched off and a click rang out from the doorway. A small gust of wind blew into the building as the doors slowly opened up, revealing the vibrant cityscape behind it. I grinned in excitement as I activated [Celerity] and soared past the doorway and into the lively city of New Ragna.
