Chapter 36 - Chapter 36

The best part is that I never have to say that.

Sighing I settled down. And grabbed a glass of sparkling apple cider. I still had a sweet tooth. All evening I had ignored the existence of the Timmons and Dwights. I was hoping to continue that. Except his mother was coming towards me. For the life of me I couldn't remember her name. And I didn't care.

Please God let there be someone else that she is going to talk to. to speak to me.

"Diane" she greeted.

Oh shucks.

"Hello" I greeted

"How are you?" she asked.

"Well. Yourself?"

"Good" I hoped that was the end of the discussion.

"Diane" she called again.

"Yes?" I said bored.

"You know that my son regrets what he has done right?"

"I don't care"

"That boy has the right to see his father" she countered.

"Which father? Please tell me which father? Please Mrs. Dwight don't reopen any old wounds. You know I am actually surprised at you. What kind of woman are you? Eleven years ago you practically coerced your son to dump me and disown his child. And here you are again trying to control his life.

Collins might be your little puppet or minion that you drag along like a rag doll but I'm not. Keep that in mind" I snapped.

She looked at me shocked. I guess she really thought I had no backbone. She quickly got herself together.

"Your son has the right to know their father. And vice versa.

You have to take your emotions out of this"

"That is my problem. Not yours. And please stop acting all high and mighty. As I recall you denied both of them that right"

"You are not raising them right" she yelled in uncontrolled anger.

"Then it is on my head. Oh one more thing. Do not ever. AND I MEAN EVER stop me to spew this garbage and nonsense on me ever again. This is your only warning" I growled at her.

I was so busy talking that I did not see little Fifa running to me.

My anger melted away all at once. She was really too adorable for her own good.

I set my glass on the nearby table in time to catch her in my arms and swing her around the room.

"Aren't you supposed to be on a camping trip?" I asked her gently. Where was George.

"I don't wanna go" she yelled at me.

"Really why not?" Turning my face in a funny frown. I was rewarded with a loud giggle.

All eyes were on us. Momentarily I forgot that we had company.

"Mom have you seen Fifa" one of the boys called from behind the door.

"She is right here, I will bring her!" I called gently panicking. I tried to pick her up and take her to the boys.

But I was too late. David run into the room. Right where Collins and his family were.

Oh damn.

As if that was not enough, Mario had to follow.

Twins?" Collins gasped. He had tears in his eyes.

Well things just got real.

"Come one Fifa we have to go" Mario called pulling her arm.

She snatched her arm back and snuggled herself deeper into me.

"NO I wanna stay with momma" Fifa yelled.

"I want to go camping. Jaun David yelled.

"Boys no shouting. GO wait outside please" I commanded.

"There you are" George called coming in. He took one look at the situation and raised his eyebrow at me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him

"I left our passes in your purse so we had to come back.

Besides, that little lady there was crying and shouting every five minutes" pinching her cheeks. "Hey, why don't you come with us?"

"No I couldn't. I have to go to Milan for a writer's conference tomorrow"

"We will fly on my plane. Cone on. It'll be fun" George called.

"Yeah Di take some time off" Angela encouraged.

"Yeah mom lets go"

"Here is your purse now shoo"

I had no choice. I was leaving. Well I could have.

Twins. I have twins" Collins was whispering to himself over and over again.

People were looking at him weird.

"Congratulations Mr. Dwight I didn't know that you had children. Now if you will excuse me my fiance and my kids will be leaving. See ya Angie" George called.

How I love this man.

"Goodbye"

"Goodbye" the kids called waving their hands.

Then still carrying Fifa in my arms I said my goodbyes and followed George who had his arm on each of the boys' shoulders as he ushered us out of the room.
