Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

Diane's POV

"Mama that's so cool. Are you really going to meet Alexander Tay?" Juan David asked with big eyes as he sprawled in my bedroom sofa. He was supposed to be helping me pack. But that was never going to happen.

"Yes I am" I grunted trying to zip my suit case. I was not really surprised with his enthusiasm. Alex was one of David's favourite actor. "And through the next couple of weeks you're truly would be working closely with him."

"Mama that's awesome! Can you get an autograph for me?"

Juan David begged with his puppy dog eyes.

"I'll try" I answered him absent minded. I was too busy focusing on packing. I know I am forgetting something. Now I know why it is wrong to leave packing till the last minute.

My bedroom door flung open and I barely caught the face of the person who dashed across my room and face planted on my bed.

"Hey hey get off my bed. I just made it" I scolded Mario.

He just laughed and hopped off. Any other time I would have scolded him and lectured him. But this time I ignored him and continued looking around my room. Making sure I didn't forget anything.

I was going out of the country for a couple of weeks to shoot a new scene in George's upcoming movie. It was a perfect opportunity to work on my directing skills. I was actually surprised when he asked. I have done a couple of amateur directing but this movie was a blockbuster with a budget of over 300 million dollars!

If you're thinking that's was so nice of him or he might really love me then you are so dead wrong. Love will be guiding me through the whole process and being a mentor. No instead, this man decides to throw me in the sea knowing full well that I couldn't swim! At least I was only directing three scenes of the movie.

"Mama Uncle George is here" Mario said picking up the remote.

"What Mario.!! why didn't you tell me that before" I asked exasperated. Grabbing the remote from him to make him pay attention.

"You didn't ask" shrugging his shoulders. Grabbing the remote back.

Kids and their short term memory. Ironically they don't seem to ever forget when you make a promise to them. Sighing I hurried to the bathroom and the checked my make-up. It seemed okay.

Glancing at my watch it was time for me to make tracks.

Walking back into the bedroom I picked up my brief case and purse.

"Okay boys I have to leave. Could you please bring my bags downstairs?"

Doing as they were told, I meanwhile went ahead of them.

"And please do not throw it over the balcony or slide it down the stairs" I warned. I knew my kids way too well. As I suspected I heard grumbles. I had obviously ruined their plans.

"Mama? Mama-"

"I'm not your mother sweetie. But I am glad, you think I'm sweet and beautiful enough" George joked. Causing my mom to giggle. I rolled my eyes in amusement.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night" I quipped back at him.

"Oh I sleep fine" he winked at me. Making a suggestive wink.

I don't want to know" I faked gasped. My mom just glared at him.

He chuckled at our reactions.

"Oh and get your feet off my counters" I instructed. I was really anal about cleanliness. He scoffed but did as he was told. Not that he had much choice. I filled my water bottle and poured myself some good old fashioned life saver; coffee.

"Okay I'm ready" I announced. Time to get this show on the road.

George clapped his hands together and jumped to his feet

"Alright let's hit the road. Guess he was eager to start this project. Whereas as I was just a bunch of nerves. But there was no delaying or procrastinating the inevitable.

He gave my mom a quick peck on the cheeks. And we headed to the driveway where his Jaguar was awaiting us.

My bags were safely in the car. And by safely I mean my boys didn't wreak them. As any mother with two monsters, I gave them orders and instructions. And by giving I literally mean I handed each if them three sided single spaced papers with instructions on them. My boys were really that naughty and mischievous.

"Okay bye mi amores" kissing both my boys. They groaned but nevertheless they hugged me back.

"You can reach me on my cell anytime, okay? Call if you need anything. And don't forget to listen to your abuela"

"Yes mom" they droned like robots. I had been on so manuscripts that I should be used to this. But guess what I wasn't. I was a mother I will always worry about them.

"Oh and don't forget my autograph" David reminded me.

"I said I'll try" | reminded him.

"What autograph?" Mario perked up.

"I asked mama to get me an autograph from Alexander Kay" he exclaimed. I knew Mario would want one as well. He was not such an avid fan like David but still this was Alexander Tay we are talking about. Who wouldn't want an autograph?

"What?! Mama I want one!" Mario exclaimed begging me with puppy dog eyes. Just that quick he went from bored to excited.

"I said I'll try" I sternly said to the both of them. I didn't want them to get too spoiled and star eyed.

"Don't worry boys I'Il get you a personal autograph" George promised. The boys cheered and rushed up to hug him.

I threw him a glare. He was always spoiling the boys no matter how many times I asked him not to. And he just rolled his eyes and smiled at me cheekily. Sometimes I wonder who is older, me or him.

I gave my mom a hug and the boys a couple more hugs and kisses then I hopped into the awaiting vehicle. With one last wave George drove us to the airport.

"How many times have I asked you not to spoil the boys" I spoke immediately.

"As many times it has grown redundant and I always expect it.

Besides, they're boys and I'm their uncle. It's my duty to spoil them" he grinned. It was like dealing with hyper active child.

I just sighed, it was useless to argue with him. So instead I opened my brief case to go over some scenes.

"Nervous?" he asked glancing at me.

"Yeah. A little" I admitted.

"Don't worry you'll be fine" he assured me.

I smiled.

"Besides the worst that could happen is the end of your career

" he just had to go and ruin the moment. Great speech

Georgeie. Great speech.

"Gee. Thanks. I needed that" I said sarcastically.

"Anytime kiddo" he laughed.

Our journey consisted of him taking jabs at me. Me ignoring him. Asking questions. Him answering. Me yelling at him to speed up. The usual.

We reached the airport in no time. I was flying to New Zealand for the first couple of scenes. And the last scene I was informed that we would be shooting it on some island.

I wasn't sure where, there had been some last minute changes and someone had not seen it as important to inform me.

Picking my briefcase I boarded the plane. It was a private plane for the whole crew. We were taking more than a hundred people and that did not include the actors in the movie. Besides we had to carry equipment.

I waved at some people that I knew and worked with before.

Thankfully I had the window seat. I buckled my belt and let out a deep breath. I was still nervous. I had this feeling in the pit of my stomach that something big was going to happen. I dismissed as just nervous jitters. I got this all the time. But this was different.

I had a feeling that this film was sure going to change my career and ultimately my life. For what I don't know yet.
