Chapter 301 - Day 301: Guardians (III)

Blake's mouth closed abruptly after Lynn's words, a shiver had run through her body as the mere thought of a race having been... Destroyed until there was nothing left of it was too difficult to accept, and many ideas were taking over his mind, which Lynn could easily guess.

"I know what you are thinking, and although this story I have just told you is only a record of what happened countless years ago, it makes very clear the power and determination of the guardian of the fire when it comes to fulfilling his task, for that reason, he is the most feared guardian among all of them." Lynn still did not eliminate her serious attitude, she did not want to scare Blake or something, although from his expression it did not seem to be the case.

"I understand, although it seems somewhat unfair from one point of view, are you telling me that he can decide when a race or most of it is a threat, and he will destroy it afterward?" Blake's question seemed quite logical at the time, plus it was his sincere thoughts.

"If you say it that way, it's clear that it sounds wrong, but cases like the one I told you have barely arisen in the entire known history of Futhark, although it is impossible to deny that the guardian of the fire is clear that what he does is to protect Futhark, another proof of this was the destruction of a star that threatened to fall and eradicate the Gebu continent, again they are stories obtained from ancient records, but no one dares to underestimate or deny the power behind the guardians, so that there is no other option but to accept it as the truth." Lynn was perhaps not only saying that to Blake, but also to herself. When she was little she felt a huge fear of Firesome because of all the stories that surrounded him, but now... At least she understood everything it meant to be the one who presides over destruction. "But I guess all this still doesn't make it clear to you why no one wanted to claim the Raidu continent as his own, or for some great power to take shape. Of course there were some towns or villages, mainly the dwarf clans scattered throughout the continent since they are originally from Raidu, but there was a quite popular saying… Anyone who sought to spread their power in the land of the firekeeper, only destruction will befall them at dawn."

Blake was feeling a little impatient since he still wasn't clear about where Lynn was going with those words, but like the time it took Marjorie to finish a cup of tea, it wouldn't take Lynn long to explain in detail.

"All of this was due to what was known as the curse of the guardian of fire, which was that, every thousand years, Firesome would bring destruction to his land to calm his emotions… And so it was, after a period of a thousand years, the guardian of fire would awaken from his slumber to make Raidu what you could call hell on earth. The earth being scorched, the forests being flooded by seas of lava, the mountains destroyed with every roar of the elder dragon… And those ignorant or unfortunate who did not take the warnings seriously… They ended up in the same way as the demonic race of ancient times." Again, Lynn had only repeated everything she knew, it was general knowledge of Futhark, some people from the old generation could also give truth to that information since they were able to witness the moment when the guardian's curse became present in the world, so it was something that everyone kept in mind... But there was a problem with all of this and Blake asked the necessary question.

"If that is the case… How is it possible that this "republic" exists on the Raidu continent now?" Blake had no idea when the supposed curse would be present once again, but it was certain that the result of it would cause Eucraft to be reduced to a foundation... No, even that would not be left of it.

"It was about thirty years ago, just ten years before the dictated period of one thousand years would expire, all of Raidu was aware of the fate that awaited them, the towns were prepared for what was coming, moving as far away as they could from the center of the continent, always remaining on its shores, the dwarves, as over the years, took refuge in their own underground domains since they were the most prepared to survive the fate that awaited their homeland. It seemed that history was not far from repeating itself and would serve as a new demonstration for new generations of the fear and power of the guardian of fire... But before the predestined date took place, a message was heard throughout Futhark, which seemed like a gift from heaven for everyone who lived in Raidu at that time." Lynn was silent for a moment before speaking again, she wanted to express the following correctly, especially since she was present when said message reached everyone's ears as if the wind would carry it. The cycle of destruction has come to an end, Raidu will no longer have to fear his guardian, and it is his turn to prosper like all the other territories of Futhark."

"That…?" Blake was formulating his own answers, but it was best for Lynn to satisfy that curiosity.

"It was the same voice, or perhaps the thoughts of the guardian of wind back then. It left the world with confusion and expectations that were difficult to control, the eyes of the other continents were focused on Raidu with each passing day, and when the moment arrived all living beings on the continent feared... Nothing, nothing happened, some said that the tranquility of that time was even strange, there was a period of alert, but a few years later, the words of the guardian of the wind were very present in the inhabitants of Raidu... It was their turn to grow."
