Chapter 270 - Day 270: Will (IV)

"Do you remember how I told you that the will is like a muscle? Well, once you train it enough, you will even be able to command monsters without having to touch them. In my case, I can transmit instructions even if they are a few meters away from me." Nana had a smile while saying that since she could see some hints of surprise on Blake's face. "I forgot to tell you, but giving instructions to monsters also spends energy runic, so I think it's obvious that the more monsters you command, the more runic energy is needed, plus doing that from a distance as I did also require a lot of mental effort and runic energy. I guess you don't know this, but after the event was over, I had to eat an emergency meal I had with me, I'm glad it all worked out in the end though.

Blake became more interested in training his instructor skill after hearing Nana's explanation. He knew that it would be useful to him on some occasions, maybe it could even save his life, and although he didn't know if he would make use of his fellow monsters to fight, it wouldn't hurt to investigate that aspect as well.

"I understand. Maybe you're tired of me saying it, but thank you very much for explaining all this to me, Nana." She only laughed a little at Blake's words since he wasn't bothering her at all.

"Don't worry, Blake. Actually, I'm having fun with this little adventure. Let me think…" Nana put one of her hands under her head to indicate that she was now busy with her thoughts, but it didn't last long. "I pretty much explained all the important facts to you, so, Blake. Congratulations, from today you can consider yourself an instructor, I hope to hear great things from you in the future."

Small applause produced by Nana was what filled the place now, the wooly had also started to do the same unconsciously, although Nana wouldn't tell Blake that she instructed it to do that. He was a bit embarrassed by the impromptu congratulations ceremony, but he thanked Nana all the same.

"Ah, I almost forgot, we're not done with the wooly yet." Blake didn't understand what Nana was saying, he thought that the linking and the explanation of how to give instructions to the wooly was finished, but that wasn't what was in Nana's mind. "There's one last step that's also important, and that's giving your monster a proper name, so I'll leave it up to you, Blake."

That had taken him a bit by surprise, Blake didn't consider himself very good at picking names, he still remembered all the time it took him to pick one for Shoku, but he supposed he wouldn't have much trouble finding one the woolly liked.

"Okay… what do you think…?" And after several minutes in which the wooly rejected names like Fluffy, Soft, Snow… In the end, it all ended with a name… Unique. "Do you like that one?"

"Baa!" The wooly let out sounds from his mouth that indicated that he liked the name, so Blake had no more doubts.

"Okay, from today you'll be called Baal..." Both Blake and Nana didn't know why, but that name, combined with what seemed to be a somewhat worrying smile on the wooly's face made them feel strange. Blake had formulated that name because of the sound the wooly made when he tried to communicate, so he believed that it wasn't special in some way and he didn't pay any more attention to it since the wooly seemed to be happy.

"Well, and that would wrap up this extended session on instructors, are there any thoughts or questions on your mind, Blake?" Nana also didn't mention anything else as she could feel the happiness the wooly was experiencing.

"I think everything is clear, although I hope you can help me again if I have any questions in the future."

"Of course!" Nana raised her voice to remark that Blake could always come to her for help, but that sudden excitement lessened a bit when she realized something. "Although for that you will have to go to Blossom Town, I will not stay forever in Sharance"

What Nana said was true. Maybe they could take the option of sending letters to each other thanks to the fact that a branch of the messaging department was in Nana's town, but they could only meet again if she or Blake visit respectively.

"Yes, that's an important point, but don't worry, I also want to visit Blossom, so I don't think this is the last time you'll see me." Blake also understood what Nana meant.

"I hope so, but let's leave that for the future, I think it's time for this little one to get to know his new home." Nana caressed the wooly again at the same time that he expressed some curiosity about his new "home", so they didn't take a long long time to move on.

Affairs in the Privera forest were over. Blake had no plans to bond with another monster as he remembered the fact that he had to take care of them and feed them. He wanted to practice with Baal a bit before deciding to bond with another monster, so he made that decision.

The entire group had left the forest, Blake having returned Shoku to her seed form after spending a few minutes rewarding her. Nana accompanied Baal taking his paw and they all went to the huge Sharance tree.

On the way they didn't meet anyone, which made their pace quick and they didn't need to explain the fact that they had a monster with them, so it was not long before the peculiar barn appeared before everyone's eyes.

Baal looked at it with interest trying to figure out what was inside the building even though the wall wouldn't let him do it, both Blake and Nana could feel this, but before they continued with anything else, they all turned their eyes towards a figure who was calmly approaching them.

[Progress… Saved.]
