A small wooly had crossed some bushes before finally finding an open and quiet area, it was agitating a bit to try to remove some branches and leaves that now covered its fur, although it was not quite successful.
It had recently escaped from a couple of orcs it had annoyed by entering its territory by mistake. That day had been very strange for it since that same morning it was living comfortably in the forest of the beginnings before it felt itself being teleported to this new forest that was totally unknown to it.
Its first instinct had been to flee from the place where it had appeared since there were more types of monsters besides it and they began to fight among themselves while a strange blue sphere was in the distance.
All of this had led it to the situation it was in now, it was tired and confused, it needed to find something to eat and replenish its energy, and it thought that it would finally have the opportunity to explore the surroundings a bit so as not to feel so lost, but first before it started with its little plans, it felt a chill run through its body and it unconsciously turned its head in the direction from which that feeling came.
It didn't take it long to catch a glimpse of a couple of figures in the distance, they didn't look very different from the ones it already knew quite well, but besides that, it noticed a strange green being that was floating peacefully, which greatly disconcerted it and told it that it would have to flee once more.
And leaving aside the point of view of the wooly, the figures that had appeared in the distance from its position were precisely Blake's group.
[Species: Wooly. Status: Alert. Class: F.]
"So you decided on a wooly? I think it's a perfect choice as the first monster." Nana had heard what Blake had said the moment he saw the wooly not far from them, so she could guess that this was the monster with whom he planned to bond.
"Yeah, I didn't want to risk more dangerous monsters, plus I can get wool from it." Blake responded to Nana's words as he pushed the system notification aside.
"You are correct, the woolies are also capable of helping you on your farm, they can harvest your crops and water them if you properly teach them how to do it." Nana further substantiated what Blake said, and that information had surprised him since that sounded really useful. "But you better wait to try all that later, the time has come when everything is decided, Blake."
It didn't take long for Blake to understand what Nana meant by that, and while it looked like she could give him a few more tips, he also wanted to try doing everything on his own. He had put his hand into the sack that he brought and then took out one of the glasses of apple juice that he always carried with him.
That was the gift he had decided to use since he didn't have many other things at the moment, but he knew it tasted delicious and he didn't think the wooly would dislike it. Nana saw that and said nothing, she knew the preferences of woolies, but seeing that what Blake brought out wasn't something they hated, she let him get on with it.
Blake had already moved away from both Nana and Shoku, his step was slow, but he was careful enough not to make any move that would suddenly startle the wooly, he was still quite a distance away from it, but, with each passing second, the gap between them was gradually narrowing.
Again, from the wooly's point of view, it was aware of the supposed human that was approaching it. It wasn't the first time it had come across one and it knew very well some of the dangers involved in meeting them, but even so, it was somewhat curious since he was only approaching it without obvious intentions.
The seconds ticked by and the moment came when Blake stopped a few steps from the wooly, crouched down a little, and put the glass of apple juice on the ground before walking away once more to a safe distance.
The wooly saw this even with some distrust, but when it put its attention on the glass not far from it, it felt a sweet aroma flood its nose making it remember the hunger it had before. It could still see that the blond human was still close, but it couldn't really take much more, so despite its alertness, the woolly inched its way towards the glass.
It was able to get to it without a problem and, without wasting another second, it used its small paws to pick up the glass before licking its contents a bit, causing its eyes to widen in surprise at the delicious taste.
Now, both Blake and Nana were watching that scene carefully. Nana was silent just analyzing everything, she also remembered that she didn't tell Blake that the monsters might keep attacking him despite trying to want to bond with them, but it didn't seem like that would come up in this situation.
Blake watched intently as the wooly somewhat awkwardly drank the entire glass of juice, which he felt was a bit funny. Maybe it was true that he chose a wooly for the advantages of bonding with one, but he had also done it because he could become a wooly, so he felt he should do it as if it meant something.
…
The wooly seemed to let out a sigh of relief once the contents of the glass were gone, it had really made it feel alive again, but it still wasn't enough to satisfy its hunger.
It had also noticed its surroundings once more, those figures were still there watching it carefully, although it didn't feel threatened since it had received some food, but it became interested in the blond-haired human since had been the one responsible for that, and to its surprise, it saw something that caught its interest once more.
In Blake's hand was an apple and the wooly told itself that it must eat it at any cost, so, ignoring the possible danger that could threaten it, it advanced towards the delicious apple while its dark eyes glittered reflecting the light of the sun at that time.
