Nana moved on the platform at a steady pace to the sound of some cheers or excitement from the audience. The scene was quite simple, anyone with a bit of knowledge would know that this little event was about a catwalk, and possibly Evelyn was in charge of carrying it out, plus the words she said next reaffirmed exactly that.
"I think this year's catwalk is the liveliest so far, what do you think?" Evelyn had climbed onto the platform after Nana retraced her steps until her figure disappeared behind the stage curtains.
The audience agreed with her while Blake was just looking around. Marjorie and Marian were talking happily with Blaise. Blake searched for Rusk's figure and found him tied to a pillar in the mansion for some reason. Shino was being accompanied by Ragna and Pia at the time, and right behind them were the figures of Wells, Sherman, Hazel, and Carlos, as laughter was heard coming from them.
It looked like everyone was enjoying the little event, and Blake was about to take a seat, but something stopped him from going through with that idea.
"You're just in time." Evelyn's voice reached Blake's ears and brought his attention back to her.
Evelyn had finished explaining that a few minutes were needed before the next phase of the catwalk began, and she had seen Blake's figure in the distance, so she stepped down from the platform once more to approach him.
"Yeah, I was coming to get you because I finished the request." Blake took out the pieces of scrap and then gave them to her.
"Oh, so you found it, thank you very much, Blake!" Evelyn didn't think too long before accepting the scrap which wasn't really very visually appealing.
"It was nothing... Do you plan to use it for any outfit?" Blake asked that since he couldn't think of anything else Evelyn could use it for.
"That's right, I just needed to add the final touch, and that's precisely the scrap!" There was a twinkle in Evelyn's eye that one might have missed Blake. "After all, the outfit I'm making is for a man to wear, so it needs something like a hint of testosterone to prove that."
Maybe Evelyn's expression was a little strange, but Blake thought he got the main point.
"My greatest strength has always been women's fashion, but I guess my menswear chops aren't too far off." Evelyn was getting a little carried away with her explanation, but Blake didn't interrupt her.
"Well, I guess it's great that you focus on both, the clothes you made for me show how talented you are."
"Thank you, Blake. I am proud when it comes to my work. By the way, would you like to participate in the catwalk?" Evelyn had also realized that she was straying a bit from the main topic, but after hearing Blake's words, she had a good idea.
Blake showed a slightly confused expression even though he knew what Evelyn meant.
"I'd like you to show the sets of clothes I made for you a long time ago, but if you don't want to…"
"No no. I really have no problem helping you, plus I could take it as a way of thanking you for everything… But I've never participated in a catwalk." Blake was psyching himself up to comply with the sudden proposal.
Evelyn's expression brightened again after Blake agreed, explaining that there was no problem with his lack of experience, plus she gave him a short rundown of what he needed to do.
"You saved me, Blake. You see, the outfit I was making was for Gaius… But I don't know where he is, I asked Raven about him, but she said she hadn't seen him all day." Evelyn seemed preoccupied with her own thoughts as she said that.
And at the same time, on Blake's side, he also began to weigh in on various things.
'Hmm… why would Raven lie to Evelyn… Is the catwalk the reason why Gaius is acting so strange?' Even though voices could be heard from everyone in the huge room, a noise generated deep silence between Blake and Evelyn that lasted a few minutes. "By the way, Evelyn."
"Yeah?" Evelyn snapped back to reality at that moment.
"I found out that today was your birthday... Honestly, I couldn't prepare anything special, but I thought this would be quite useful for you." Blake began to take out of his dimensional sack an enormous amount of materials that he had previously obtained in the Privera forest.
"Oh my, I know it's my birthday, but I wasn't expecting such a gift, I really appreciate it Blak…" A huge smile formed on Evelyn's face and she was being sincere when she saw all the materials Blake give her. There was some wool from woolies, glue, and spider thread, it was all that was necessary for her to work, so that made her good mood rise once more.
But even though she was expressing her thanks to Blake, her voice stopped abruptly for some reason.
"Something happens?" Blake noticed exactly that so he got a little worried.
"This is perfect!!" Evelyn was already putting away all the gifts that Blake had given her quite carefully, but she had been silent when she saw a huge white-colored fur. "This is an amazing quality fur! Thank you so much, Blake!"
Evelyn was so excited, so much so that she forgot her manners and hugged Blake tightly making it hard for him to breathe.
Evelyn released him after a few seconds, and she simply ran behind the curtains that were on the platform, but not before saying goodbye to Blake simply by waving her hand.
