"And it seems that even one of the favorites ended up trapped in the world of dreams." Blaise's voice matched the situation perfectly. "It's surprising to notice the difference between the number of participants that were at the beginning of the event with those that remain in this moment."
That wasn't really a surprise after all that had happened, and now, in the center of the square, the five figures of the only remaining participants could be seen.
"That means the winners are among themselves... But the wooly's ability is still taking effect." Shara's voice intervened with those words since that was exactly what was happening.
Among the public, it was still seen how some people staggered a bit or some began to fall asleep since they could not bear the feeling of drowsiness, but there was nothing to worry about since they would be helped by the people around them.
Perhaps that was already enough for everyone's attention to be focused on those situations, but many of them were waiting for the final result in the center of the square.
'No… Don't fall asleep…' Those were the words that Blake was saying to himself at that moment, and that was because he had also been one of those who was affected by the ability of the huge wooly. 'I know that this happens to me because of the wooly, but I don't want to be disqualified for something so unfair.'
Blake was quite aware of the wooly's ability since in the memories he had obtained from his past, there was also that ability. Blake hadn't moved from his spot again, especially since he was struggling to keep from falling asleep, his eyelids heavy, he closed his eyes and felt like he was asleep for a couple of seconds before waking up feeling somewhat disoriented.
If anyone asked him, Blake was getting a bit tired after experiencing all those strange situations during the event that seemed to be trying to separate him from victory, so that had been enough for him to demand something at that moment.
'This is the time you need to help me; you damn system!' Maybe Blake had actually lost his mind a bit, it was true that he had been annoyed with the system many times, but on most of those occasions he quickly forgot about that, he treated the system with some respect, especially since he didn't know if it might get mad and do something horrible to him or something...
So, clearly, Blake was putting his principles aside by taking a bit of a chance, though he wouldn't if it wasn't a hopeless situation… Well, at least it was hopeless for him. And even though he didn't really expect much, the system surprised him again.
[Sleep resist skill, increased.]
That monotonous voice had been like hearing the words of his savior, though that was the case.
Blake had heard the notification loudly and it wasn't long before he noticed the enhancement of that ability. He had felt as if he had just been doused with a bucket filled with icy water as his eyes went wide awake, but he couldn't enjoy the sensation as he had to move his body in that very instant.
"Crack!" And that same sound was heard at the moment that the wooly's paw crashed into the ground causing a rumble so that later anyone would realize that this attack had cracked the stone floor of the place a little.
That itself had caused various expressions of astonishment to appear in the crowd, not only because of the wooly's strength, but also because of Blake's dodging ability, but that wouldn't end there. The wooly had wasted no time after launching its attack, regaining its balance again and using its legs to rush to the place where Blake was.
On his side, Blake was aware of what was coming next, and despite the amount of danger that was in that situation, he didn't run away for any reason. The footsteps of the huge wooly could be heard by everyone as it was obvious that it was making an effort to run toward Blake. Nana was not intervening in this, but the huge wooly was following the instruction not to use all his physical strength even though didn't it seem so.
The wooly's paw flew through the air again to connect with Blake's body and send him flying, but the result was a rather simple one.
"Clank!" That sound was produced as if the clash between two swords made of metal had just occurred, but in this case, it was the large spoon that Blake was carrying after blocking the paw of the wooly.
Blake felt that he could still use the spoon as if it were a short sword, but it seemed that he had underestimated the huge wooly. It was true that he was able to parry the wooly's attack, but that didn't last long before Blake had to take several steps back due to the surge of force the huge wooly displayed.
This time, that had been enough to throw Blake off balance a bit, and before he even thought about regaining his battle stance, he felt a sensation that didn't bring back very pleasant memories.
The wooly's paw had once again crossed the air with the sole intention of hurting Blake, he had frozen at that precise moment since he had not recovered from the previous attack, so it seemed quite obvious what would happen next, although it would actually be something different.
"Clank!" Again, that sound had been heard filling the entire area due to how loud it was. Unlike the scene where Blake would have been brutally beaten and everyone expected it to happen, this time it had been the huge wooly who had to back away.
Blake only had a confused look for a second before he knew what had happened, and though he was grateful, he couldn't deny what he heard next.
"I didn't mean to help you, but I guess I can take this as you owe me a favor, right, Blake?" Sakuya's smiling face appeared before everyone's sight.
She was tilting her spear up after repelling the wooly's movement quite easily, even Sakuya didn't understand why she had done that since it would only benefit her if Blake was disqualified, but everything was done, so she just she told herself that it would be better not to regret it in the future...
