One last shout of excitement came from the crowd before everyone started moving back and forth to prepare for what was coming next. All the participants showed an expression of impatience, especially those who had already participated in previous years, it was always an experience worthwhile remembering, and even if they didn't win, they were going to enjoy it a lot.
Blake was also aware of this since Sakuya had said goodbye leaving him alone again. He was also thinking about looking for a comfortable position because, for some reason, everyone was leaving the central space of the square free, in addition to clearing one of the entrances to the place.
Blake verified that nothing was missing, besides that he knew that, as in all festivals or contests, the participants were forbidden to use magic or strange abilities, so he would try to control himself as best he could.
Everything seemed set, but most of the crowd had to fall into a deep silence once a loud pair of crashes were heard approaching the venue. It didn't take long for the responsible for it to be present since
its figure could be seen arriving through the clear entrance, and Nana was making sure to accompany it so that there would be no problems.
Some shocked expressions came from the people who were attending the festival for the first time, but this was not the case for the others, although they had to admit that it was also quite a sight to see that moment in the front row.
All those present had to raise their heads at the same time as the mouths of several opened in surprise, as well as the nervousness that began to be generated in some, and it was not strange since... The wooly they were seeing was anything but normal.
Its shiny white wool was displayed in all its splendor as was its dark skin beneath it, its small eyes were watching all around it with some curiosity, but its footsteps were constant as it followed Nana's instructions with complete precision.
Maybe that would be a normal thing up to that point, but the reason for everyone's surprise was that… That wooly seemed to be over three meters tall! Perhaps its height was already enough to be considered somewhat surprising, but the fact that its body was embraced by such a huge amount of wool made its figure look huge as well, thus reinforcing some people to feel a little nervous since it was still a monster.
Behind that huge wooly, more woolies could also be seen, but unlike the giant, these weren't much different from the ones Blake had normally seen. All of them were lining up perfectly while Nana was walking in front of them calmly as she performed some movements and directions that only the monsters seemed to understand.
In the end, both she and the monsters stopped in the middle of the square, the huge wooly was still the center of attention of the audience, but before anyone thought to start moving, Nana gave one last signal at the same time as it was moving away from what many knew would become a great battlefield.
The silence was still in place, but it was quite clear that the event had already started. Everyone turned to look at each other without knowing what to do, but it wasn't long before a young tourist took the first step.
"Your wool will be mine!" And with what seemed to be some kind of strange war cry, the young man raised one of the lollipop-shaped tools over his head intending to cut the wooly's wool, but the next thing happened too quickly for most of those who I was there.
"Baaammm!" And that loud noise that resounded throughout the town square was the result of the body of that impatient young man once he crashed into the huge tree in the square.
That same thing had caused the silence to return to the place, everyone had heard the sound as if the wind had broken for a moment so that the next moment, they were aware of what had happened.
The new participants instinctively directed their gaze towards Nana, but before any ideas were generated, Wells's cheerful voice was present once more.
"That's right, I forgot to mention it, but don't think that the monsters will make it easy for you." Those words had made everyone understand what it meant, the former participants wasted no time searching for the reason for that, it was quite clear to them, and at seeing the huge wooly that was still with its paw raised, they knew that the battle was just beginning for them.
"And the first victim of today fell! And yes, I know what I said, but we all know that it won't be the last." That voice filled the silence of the place and everyone directly saw that pair of golden pigtails that moved from one side to another.
"There are only two reasons why you would want to participate in this event, either you have enough strength and confidence, or you are proving how lucky you are, in either case, be prepared to maybe end up on the ground more than once." That simple comment also came from another golden hair.
That pair of voices that were audible to everyone, plus the area they were in, made it pretty obvious what it was, but the introduction didn't take long.
"It seems that this year's instructor is quite talented, that blow seemed to carry the necessary force to knock out that participant without hurting him too much, but from his condition, it seems that he was knocked out too quickly." Everyone's gaze returned to the young man who now was being dragged away by a light blue-haired girl with a worrying smile on her face as she took him to a small tent with the name Medic zone on top. "Oops, almost forgot, this year's wooly festival will be commented on by the representatives from Blaise's restaurant. My name is Collette and I am the second in command, if you want to eat something delicious, do not hesitate to call me."
"I'm Rusk... Seriously, why do I have to do this?" Rusk turned to his sister with that question even though his voice was still being amplified by the peculiar device in front of him.
"Because daddy said you had to or he'd punish you for a month for peeking in the hot springs again." Collette kept talking, and she didn't care that the conversation between the two of them was heard by everyone.
"Tsk... I'm Rusk, I know how to make desserts..." Rusk introduced himself without much emotion, but the whole festive atmosphere was replaced by a strange one, especially since everyone felt a drop of sweat falls down their foreheads listening to the conversation between the pair of twins.
