Chapter 162 - Day 162: Meeting again (IV)

"Ufufu, I guess this must have surprised you too." Shino kept up her good mood and wanted to act a bit mysterious in front of her master.

"I wouldn't say it's a surprise, it's more like simple curiosity... But I think it would be better if I heard it from his mouth instead of you." Blake noticed that those words were referring to him, and he didn't waste much time responding.

"Um... Nice to meet you, my name is Blake, it's a pleasure to meet my master's mentor." Blake didn't really know how to act, but he did his best to hear Mei's voice again.

"Then you also accepted a disciple, the boy must not be bad if that's the case." Mei turned her attention to Shino as she said that, making her show her satisfaction.

"Instead, I could say that he is a unique talent, I even feel that I am not exaggerating when saying that he is more talented than you, master." Mei believed that Shino was just showing off a bit, she did not doubt that Blake might have talent, but comparing him to her, she could hardly agree. Mei used rök to analyze Blake a bit, but her brows furrowed the next moment.

Blake was aware of the sudden pressure exerted on him, but he couldn't do anything against the feeling other than wait for it to end, it wouldn't be the first time he felt this way, so he knew that would not hesitate long.

Shino was aware of what Mei was doing, but he smiled as he took in the expression she had and heard the words coming out of her.

"So sixth level of runic awakening, pretty good for his age." Blake was surprised to hear that since he was sure that his strength level was hidden, which further convinced him of Mei's strength.

"You seem quite satisfied with my disciple, master." Shino was aware that her teacher did not express her true feelings, but that only made her feel more satisfied, although what she heard next would also make the expression on her face change.

"It could be said that this is the case, but also I can say that he's still a little behind Ragna." Those same words were enough for Shino to understand what Mei meant and, repeating the same action of hers, Shino began to concentrate on Ragna this time causing her eyes to widen in total surprise.

"Oh... Ufufu, actually I must say that he found an excellent seed, master." Shino's laugh came with a strange feeling this time as Mei spoke once more.

"You said it yourself; his talent should not be inferior to yours."

"Is that so? Although about Blake being after him, I'm not entirely convinced."

"I knew you would say that, the level doesn't always decide everything, but I wanted you to show that confidence of yours." Now a tension could be felt in the atmosphere that was being generated between Shino and Mei's gazes, both Blake and Ragna felt that it was due to them while Sakuya had realized where this was all going.

"If so, how about we watch a friendly introduction from our disciples, master?" Shino said as he closed his eyes and finished the cup of tea in front of her.

"What a coincidence, I was thinking of going out a bit to enjoy the atmosphere, it wouldn't be bad to see a little show." Mei did the same, taking the small cup in her hands.

Both Blake and Ragna realized that their masters were starting to leave the room and they had no choice but to follow them, Sakuya was also behind them as she knew she would see something interesting, their footsteps could be heard as they slowly walked away from the town so that in the end a fairly spacious area appeared combining with the tranquility of the forest.

"Okay, it looks like there are no monsters around or people who can get hurt, is this enough, master?" Shino asked that last question only to be greeted with a nod from Mei.

"It's always better to avoid unnecessary problems, let's find where to enjoy the view." Mei had already started to walk away, but before everyone else did too, Shino stopped them to explain the reason for all that.

"Blake, Ragna. May I know where you're going?" Both boys were about to respond, but it was at that moment that everything connected in their heads and they looked at each other with complicated looks. "It seems that I don't need to say anything more, I just hope they give it their all. Sakuya, make sure nothing unforeseen happens."

A few minutes had passed since then and now both Ragna and Blake could be seen standing facing each other, separated by a considerable distance in the middle of the open space, Sakuya was in the middle of them waiting for both of them to be ready while both Mei and Shino were sitting on some small rocks in the background with a perfect view of the area.

"Are you sure about this, master?" Shino asked before the whole show started.

"That's what I should ask you, maybe Ragna doesn't have much experience in the real battle, but it's not good to underestimate him." Mei didn't hesitate to say that, although deep down she also had a lot of trust in Ragna.

"I fully trust Blake, I'm sure he will surprise you in many ways, maybe he has only practiced the runic path for two weeks, but it should be enough to put up a good fight."

"I hope so." Mei now had her gaze fixed on the area where a friendly match between the two disciples would take place, but right at that moment, she thought that she had misheard. "What did you say?"
