"Sigh... It really seems to have worked, her temperature is dropping rapidly..." Blake's concern had greatly diminished as Raven's complexion returned to its usual self and her breathing seemed steady. The medicine gave incredible results, but he wasn't surprised after all.
Unconsciously he approached her and took her hand, it really felt warm and a little smaller than his and he only stared at her for a few seconds until he heard the small snores that came from her indicating that she was asleep at that time.
"I should let her rest, I promised her I'd take care of the store in her absence, I was really lucky she didn't wake up again…" Blake only gave a small laugh as he remembered how difficult it was to deal with her, but seeing her now, a great tranquility hit him and he thought that the best thing was to do what he had promised.
Blake had already gone downstairs and saw that there was no one there really, he went behind the counter and took a list that had the price of all the objects that were sold in the store and then try to memorize it the best he could.
"Well, I think I have it all!" Blake had spent about thirty minutes rereading the list with great intensity and just as he said that, his attention was quickly drawn by the sound of the door opening and the person who had just entered, hinting that it was a customer once who approached the counter. "Uh... W-Welcome!"
"Hello, do you sell cheap bracelets here?"
"Yes, w-wait a moment, please." Blake turned and searched carefully, then found the area where the bracelets were and returned with the indicated one. "Here you go! That's 560G, please!"
"All right, here you go."
"Thank you very much! Come back another time!" Blake received the exact payment and watched as the satisfied traveler left the shop causing him to breathe a sigh of relief. 'I think I shouldn't get so nervous.'
But while he was still immersed in his thoughts, Blake noticed that the door opened again and a customer entered causing Blake to adopt the image of an employee.
"Welcome!"
"Give me a battle hammer, and do it quickly!"
"Ah, y-yes!" The customer's attitude had taken Blake by surprise, but he knew that he couldn't cause a problem just because of that, so he quickly started looking for the item he had requested.
"Hey, boy. Hurry up, I don't have all day!"
"I'm sorry!" The impatience in his voice was easy to catch and it didn't help that Blake still hadn't found exactly where the hammers were, but after a few seconds, he returned to the counter with a huge hammer in his hands and handed it to the impatient customer.
"H-Here you go! In total, it's 1400G!"
"Thank you! You seem like a good worker, I thought that the usual girl would be the one to attend to me, sometimes it's a bit difficult to communicate with her, well, I'll come back another time!" The transaction was over and the man had walked out, leaving Blake alone again.
"Haha... It seems that Raven has it difficult." And repeating the same situation, the door was opened again for Blake to see the figure of a well-known silver-haired girl entering the store.
"Welcome!"
"Huh, what are you doing here...?" Karina felt strange seeing Blake in that place.
"Ah, well, you see, I…" Blake was about to explain, but it seemed that Karina wasn't very interested.
"Uh... Never mind... I'm in a bit of a rush... (Maybe he works part-time.)"
"I see..." Blake didn't try to say anything else and just listened to what she had to say.
"I had ordered some earrings from Raven and already paid for them; I hope you can give them to me... (I hope that she hasn't forgotten them.)" The order took Blake by surprise since he hadn't seen anything like it around the store, but when he remembered the small box under the counter, he realized that it had Karina's name on it and he took it to verify that the earrings were inside.
"It should be these." A pair of what seemed to be some blue crystals with a rather peculiar design shone thanks to the light of the store making Karina appreciate them carefully.
"Yeah, thanks. Say hi to Raven for me. (They're really beautiful.)" A new business had been successfully done and Blake got a little used to how to interact with customers. Time kept passing and the customers kept coming without letting him rest, that was repeated many times, and by the hour, he realized that it was already a little after noon and that the store was empty at that time.
"It's not as easy as I thought at first, I hope that Raven continues to rest, although perhaps I should have taken her to Marjorie from the beginning... But surely, she wouldn't have listened to me." But while he was still inside his thoughts, a new voice came to his ears calling his attention.
"Hey, Raven! Did you transform into Blake? That's amazing!" That strange deduction obviously belonged to Gaius.
"What, no, it's actually me, Gaius."
"Yes, I thought so... So where is Raven?" It didn't take long for Blake to explain the situation a bit.
"She has a cold; I took her upstairs so she could rest."
"I see." Blake realized that Gaius didn't show much surprise at hearing that, but he guessed that was his way of acting until he heard the next thing he said. "Hey, Raven. How are you?
"Eh?" Those words confused Blake a bit, but when he noticed the direction Gaius was looking, he did the same, noticing the red-haired figure walking slowly down the stairs.
