Chapter 113 - Day 113: A normal day (III)

Blake had walked the path that led to the interior of the town until he found the building he was looking for and crossed the door of it. A delicious aroma hit his nose again and the warmth of the place covered his entire body once the internal image of the town restaurant appeared before his eyes. He needed some idea to use and the best thing that had occurred to him was to look for it in that place that surely would not disappoint him.

The view of the area showed many people enjoying the atmosphere and the food, but no one who was there could ignore the robust green-haired man who devoured a table full of food as if there were no end at the same time that Blake approached the bar and was greeted by a heated orange-eyed girl.

"Welcome...! Oh, it's you, Blake! Are you coming for something to eat? You won't regret it." The exciting look that Collette showed was quite characteristic, you could see that several kitchen utensils were moving in her hands while she prepared what were surely the orders of the other customers in the place, but that did not stop her from starting to chat.

"Well, you could say so…" Blake felt like he shouldn't bother her seeing how busy she was, but she had something else to say.

"Well, as you can see, I'm in charge of the kitchen today, Dad's a little busy with Sherman's orders, so I'll take care of everything else." Hearing that, Blake understood the reason for the view at the back of the kitchen, dishes and ingredients seemed to fly by every second as Blaise gave off an aura of total concentration and his movements could barely be followed with the naked eye.

"I see... I wasn't really thinking of something to eat for myself, though." Regaining Collette's attention and seeing that she was very curious, Blake explained the real reason he was there and it didn't take long for her to understand his problem.

"So that was it, you should have mentioned it as soon as you arrived, it's not the first time that Sofia puts that request on the board, many times I accept it since it helps me practice. So, do you have any idea what to prepare?" Collette had already understood enough and she was ready to help Blake although her hands kept moving preparing an immense number of dishes.

"Well, I don't really know what tastes she has, but I thought I'd try making some sashimi... I only have a sardine with me though, haha."

"I see, that's a good option, Sofia never complains when I prepare some for her, if you need more sardines, you can have some in the fridge, of course, as long as you pay for them."

"I really appreciate it, but what I really wanted... Was it you could teach me how to make it." Although his idea was a good one, Blake didn't know how to make it, but once he saw the strange smile that Collette had and as a silence formed in the place as she stopped what she was doing, he didn't know whether to feel happy or worried.

"Rusk!!" That scream was enough to get everyone's attention and they turned their heads in the direction of the stairs to see the next second how a golden-haired boy had just come down and had a really cold look on his face when he saw all the people below of him while asking a simple question to his sister.

"What?" Collette wasn't fazed one bit by that and told him her thoughts.

"It's your turn to take charge." Rusk returned to see all the people who saw him as the center of attention and only let out a sigh as his presence changed completely making it difficult to think that he was the same boy as before.

"Come with me if you want food." Rusk was slow to move until he reached behind the bar and his hands seemed to move of their own accord as an order reached his ears and cleared the way for Collette.

"Okay, that's covered, now follow me." Blake heard Collette and followed her to another area of the kitchen where there was an abundance of utensils. "Obviously the first thing you'll need is one of these."

As he continued to look around, Blake noticed the knife that Collette had held out to him.

"Now let me show you how it's done." Without expecting it, Collette had already taken a sardine from the fridge and put it on the board in front of her to start cleaning it and separating the unnecessary parts, impressing Blake with the great precision with which she made those movements to later make several fine and delicate cuts and place them on a plate giving a beautiful view of the final result while a voice sounded in Blake's head not surprising him much.

"I hope you've been paying attention, why don't you try it, I'll help you if you have questions somewhere." Collette had a smile on her face again after finishing the dish, but despite the complaints that she thought would come out of Blake, her attention was taken by the way he took the knife and pulled a small sardine out of nowhere and then perfectly performed the same movements that she had done before.
