Chapter 103 - Day 103: Arrogance (I)

Blake had already resigned himself to the fact that anything would happen once he walked through the door, but just as he did, he was met with a scene he didn't expect to see.

"What do you mean by that?" That was a voice Blake had never heard and it didn't sound happy at the moment.

"What you heard, it's obvious that this green crystal doesn't even have its full petals, but you still want to sell it above its price, do you think I can't notice it?" Inside the pharmacy, in addition to Marian with an annoyed expression, there was a teenager who was wearing a type of clothing that Blake would swear he had seen somewhere, and it seemed that there was an argument between the aforementioned.

"The one who doesn't understand is you, I even decided to sell this little treasure of mine in this store that isn't even part of the alchemist's association, you should feel honored with just that and stop telling lies in front of me." In the boy's voice not the slightest hint of humility could be heard as his gaze remained focused on Marian.

"For what reason should I feel honored? I'm just explaining what the reality is, but I see that you are too full of yourself for it to enter your head." Marian seemed not to be affected too much by the attitude of the "client" in front of her and was already preparing to ignore him completely.

"If I were you, I'd watch my words, you're just a simple peasant who doesn't know the world, now my disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined... I hope you can fix that, just give me double what I asked for before and I'll do as if this never happened." The words of that subject were already touching the point of ridiculous and Marian was tired of all that.

"Forget it, you better take that herb along with your attitude out of here, you're just wasting my time." Marian had finished the conversation and was about to go back to what she was doing, but that wasn't the same case for the other party.

"It's incredible that even after honoring my presence in this dirty town they treat me that way, do you think I'll leave here that easily? No, I can't tolerate being insulted like that, if you're not smart enough to accept my offer, I suppose you won't refuse me to take it by force." The boy had forcefully grabbed Marian's arm making her stop at that moment.

"Hey, let go of me!" Marian had not already lost her patience, but that had already crossed the line, she was about to make a move, but something would prevent her from doing so.

"Now, you'd better... Gah!" Once he couldn't see that anymore, Blake moved to stand between the two of them and push this guy hard enough to make him move away and fall on his back while he making sure Marian was okay, but the moment he saw that guy get up again, Blake knew it wasn't over. "You… Don't you know who I am?!"

The look of death Blake was receiving at that moment was enough for anyone to notice, but he didn't care about any of it when something inside him seemed to wake up and direct his gaze at that person and say something that it was hard to believe would come out of his mouth.

"How the hell am I going to know who you are?! I'm sure not even your mother knows about you!" Blake had realized what he had said, but he didn't care, he understood that the boy in front of him was not someone he wanted to relate to, and remembering that he was bothering Marian, he cared even less.

"You...! Okay, I don't have to lower myself to the level of dirty beings like you, it's obvious that you wouldn't recognize someone superior even if you were in front of them." His words now carried a quite noticeable touch of hatred. "You, the one who just pushed me! You just have to kneel in front of me and cut off your hand begging for forgiveness, and I'll let you keep your life, today I feel generous."

Perhaps those words were meant to be taken seriously since Blake didn't know the boy's origins, but instead of that, a single thought popped into his head.

'This guy... Is he an idiot or what's wrong with him?' The boy seemed to expect a useless plea from Blake, but his ears would not be delighted by Blake's words seeking some kind of forgiveness. "I tell you the same, it will be you better apologize to Marian and don't come back again, nobody wants to hear the exaggerations of someone with garbage instead of brains."

Just when he heard that, several veins stood out on his forehead, he didn't even understand how it was possible that a simple villager who was less than an insect in front of his eyes had the guts to speak to him like that, but what he did know, was that he couldn't allow yourself to be attacked in this way.

"Well, I see you woke up wanting to die, and who am I to deny you your wish? You're not even worthy of knowing my name. If you have something to say, the king of hell had better have time to listen to you." After those words reached Blake, he saw how that person took out a long sword at the same time that a green glow came out of him and a cut was sent in his direction with the sole objective of ending his life, but noticing what It was exactly, Blake just had to move his hand at the same time that a grayish glow that was only visible to him formed on it, causing that cut to vanish without leaving a single trace once he touched it and heard the monotonous voice of the system surprising him a little.

[You want to learn the "Wind Slash" runic ability?]

'So, he used a runic skill, luckily that guy is weak enough and I was able to dispel it, I guess it would be good to learn it.' But while those thoughts formed in Blake's mind, his attacker had totally different ones.

'H-How is it possible?! That was the runic ability that my brother helped me get, I even had to beg and give him my pills for a whole year to get it! And a simple nameless villager just used his hand to destroy it!' His thoughts were about to turn into chaos, but he had to forget about his internal complaints as, once again, he felt his body being thrown backward causing him to cross the door of the pharmacy and end up rolling several times on the ground only to get up again and direct a face of hatred towards Blake. "How dare you?!"

That boy's anger was already at his limit and the culprit for that was none other than Blake.

"You just had to apologize, but you really put me in a bad mood, not only did you try to attack Marian, but you also did not hesitate to attack me and I will not tolerate that." Blake's tone had turned completely serious as well as his gaze came back sharp as he watched the boy in front of him.

"Blake…" Marian realized this, and though she tried to call out to him lightly, she knew this was not the time.

"So what? Do you still want me to apologize? You're just an inferior being with some luck, you'll only end up dead if you try to do something to me." The words the boy said seemed like the screams of someone totally defeated, and even if they were true, Blake had no time to consider them.

"Apologize? No, I don't need you to waste the valuable air of the surroundings by saying useless words, you should just kneel down and cut off the arm you attacked me with, then you can keep your life." Those words brought an icy feeling with them, and that boy clearly sensed Blake's intent.

Despite the situation, he knew that the blonde was making fun of him by returning the same words he had said before, he still didn't know how he eliminated his attack from earlier, but he never crossed his mind to do what he just said. He couldn't throw away his pride, just like that, and the words that Blake had said only made him angrier.
