Chapter 100 - Day 100: Hidden (II)

As Blake continued to analyze all that, he couldn't help but run his hand over the wall to feel those symbols, but the moment he touched them, a creaking sound came from the wall in front of him, and then he noticed how it seemed to fall apart little by little showing a small dark room.

He did not hesitate and in his hand a small sphere of fire was generated, being enough to illuminate the entire room and carefully enter that hidden area, unlike the corridor before, there was no type of engraving or design on the walls, only It seemed some kind of cave without any meaning, but after Blake investigated everything around him, he realized something that was enough to surprise him and feel a little hesitant to approach it or not.

"What was a person doing in this place?" Instead of a person as such, what was actually in front of him was a skeleton, because of the shape it had and the pieces of cloth that were still on it, it was most likely a human. It was obvious that it had been in that place for who knows how long, the clothes on it had already mostly disintegrated, but it was still noticeable that this person had most likely been a woman in the past.

Blake continued to watch for a few moments until he thought that he should at least bury it with respect and that she could finally rest, but just when he was going to start making a suitable place, he saw that this person had something caught in her hand and that it did not seem to want to drop it for anything in the world.

Even after moving closer to see what it really was and trying to move her fingers to take it with some caution, it seemed to be impossible to even move it, but after a few more tries, it finally seemed to give in to Blake's strength and show what it really was while a light aura came out of that skeleton at that moment.

"That was... Elemental essence? Did this body belong to some runic? Maybe that's why it hasn't turned to dust all this time, that was the last bit that it had left, possibly with the sole purpose of protecting this…" Holding it in his hands, Blake was finally able to take a closer look at what it was, it seemed to be a simple scroll, but having survived so long, it was probably not a common one. After analyzing it and that it did not seem to be some kind of hidden trap or something like that, he opened it to see if there was something special in it and the only thing, he found were some simple words that were too strange that he began to read in his mind.

'The world is an illusion, everything is hidden showing something that is not the true essence of existence, it is up to you if you can see beyond that and discover the truth to realize the reality.' After finishing reading that, Blake didn't really understand much, that parchment didn't seem to contain anything more than those simple words, he even turned it several times looking for some other clue, but nothing worked, he was about to put it away and think of something to do later, but at that moment he seemed to understand something. "From what it says, it is likely hiding something, there is nothing in it at first sight, even when holding it against the light there is nothing strange… Realize the reality, and discover the truth… Perhaps?"

And just as he carried out the idea that just occurred to him, he could see different words appear on the parchment making him glad he was right.

"Luckily it worked, I figured since that person was a runic, using rök was the most logical method." It was as he had said, the first time he used rök he realized that in addition to noticing everything around him, it was also easier to notice details in some things, so when he used it to look at the scroll, he was able to notice words appearing out of nowhere and start reading them. "Where the runes unite and darkness dominates, that object that we were commissioned to protect is hidden, waiting for the one who will be chosen by it to arrive."

Again, Blake couldn't understand what that really meant, he even thought for a longer time what those words meant, but he didn't find any clue that would make everything clearer, he even tried to see what information the system showed it, although it was somewhat disappointing.

And with the last hope being destroyed, he finally gave up and decided to keep the scroll, and then set up an area to bury the skeleton that for some reason seemed to be surrounded by deep peace once he saw it again.

"I really don't know who you are, I can't say I did the best job either, but I hope it's enough for you to leave this world without worry, I don't know what exactly it is that you were protecting, but I'll make sure it doesn't fall into bad hands." Those were the best words he could say in front of the little makeshift tombstone he made. Once he left that place, Blake thought it was best to go home, he still felt tired and he should do something to fix it or he would end up passing out again. "Maybe if I go to the pharmacy, I can get some, this really doesn't feel like normal fatigue, plus obviously the system has something to do with all of this, I can see how my runic energy is being used up a lot faster than usual normal."

Aiming for his objective, Blake quickly used a teleport to get out of the forest and reach the Sharance tree, then went down and watered all the plants in the fields.

"Pant... Pant... It really wears out too fast, I just watered the plants and my runic energy was practically gone." With some difficulty, Blake went back upstairs to prepare some juice to help him recover a bit, and he left his house but not before his attention was attracted by the letter that was sticking out of his mailbox. "I had forgotten to check it; I hope it was not something very important."

But once he saw that the letter had today's date, he breathed a sigh of relief and began to read it to realize that it was possibly a request since the voice of the system made its presence known at that moment.
