"This stuff is the definition of bitterness, I've never tasted anything more bitter in my life, I don't think I can even feel my tongue!" Blake was experiencing a sensation that very possibly he would not forget for his whole life, he even started licking the stump of a tree that was near him to try to remove the taste from his mouth, but anything he did was completely useless. "No, now I feel it in my throat! Ahh!"
Time had already passed and Blake's figure could be seen as he chewed a small white flower in his mouth while he had a blank look on his face.
"I think I don't feel the taste so much anymore, it's lucky that toyherbs are somewhat sweet, I have to find some better-tasting antidote for the next one, I won't try another antidote herb in my life." After that peculiar scene, he continued on his way. He didn't know how much longer it would take to reach his destination, but that didn't stop him, he also encountered more monsters like a small reddish squirrel and a flower that threw seeds with impressive precision that annoyed him a lot.
In the end, Blake managed to find the place he was looking for and quickly destroyed the area's summoning gate, but he wasn't fast enough to prevent two lights from coming out earlier.
'Okay, can someone explain to me why I am fighting a cow and a floating onion?' The question sounded a bit strange, but if someone was there at that moment, they would ask the same question when they saw the monsters in front of Blake.
[Species: Buffamoo. Status: Curious]
[Species: Ghost onion. Status: Curious]
The buffamoo wasn't really that different from a regular cow apart from the fact that its size was a bit larger, but the ghost onion was really strange, it wasn't just onion and that's it, but it was a kind of ghost so to speak, its body was semi-transparent, it wore clothes that looked really worn and in one of its hands was a small blue lamp, but the reason it was called a ghost onion is that its head was practically an onion with two small yellow eyes.
Blake was turning his attention to the latter's appearance, but he quickly had to move to avoid being hit by the blue beam that had come from the onion lamp.
'That was the same spell Shara used that time, luckily I dodged it in time.' Seeing that it would really be a problem to take care of it by himself, he chose to quickly summon his sword partner and tell it to take care of the cow monster, noticing not to worry about receiving a surprise attack, Blake turned his attention to the floating onion and quickly made his move to end the fight.
Unexpectedly, the onion saw perfectly how the blond a few steps from it suddenly disappeared, losing its target, it was about to start attacking the sword plant that was in the distance, but it didn't have the slightest chance to do so when it heard a voice that came from behind.
"Power wave!" A gust of wind hit it directly, making it go back until it crashed into a tree and caused enough damage to notice how its body began to shine and become a sphere of light and then disappear.
[Level Up.]
'I leveled up again, it also seems that I can use the wind element with the runic ability, I don't know how useful it is, but it's good to know.' As he came out of his thoughts, in the distance he could see how his partner had already finished his work and that the whole area was free of monsters only leaving Blake, the sword, and the strange statues in front of them. "Okay, let's see if my deduction is correct or not."
Blake could see how far away were the statues that he moved before looking in the direction of the lake, so, having these new statues, he did the same action and moved them until they were also looking in the same direction, meeting the eyes of the other statues.
And just as he finished turning the last one, the same sound he heard before entered his ears again, but unlike before, it wasn't the only thing that happened. In the middle of both statues, you could also see the entrance that he had seen, but it was not closed, thanks to the fact that he had moved the statues and that his idea was correct, the entrance on the ground opened completely showing some stone stairs that led to a place that no one knew where it was going.
"I've come too far; I can't chicken out right now."
Steeling himself, Blake began to inch down after packing his sword partner back into its seed form. The road was really dark, but the daylight was enough for him to continue safely, he noticed how on the walls of the place there were strange symbols or figures that he really did not understand, he kept moving while he saw all this, but his progress was abruptly stopped when he encountered a new obstacle.
Just when he had finished going down all the steps, Blake reached an area where he couldn't advance further since it was apparently surrounded by an underground river, and the bridge that most likely existed before crossing it was totally destroyed.
'It seems that there is no way to continue, perhaps on the other side I can...' But his thoughts were quickly discarded when he managed to see that exactly the same situation was happening on the opposite side of the place, there was also another bridge totally destroyed and without signs that there was another path to follow.
Blake was thinking of a way to solve his problem, he had already gone through all that to investigate what exactly was hidden in that place, but it seemed that the universe kept putting tests on everything he did. He was even so focused on what idea he could come up with that the scream he heard a second later was enough to completely surprise him.
"Rainbow!"
"Ahh!!"
[Progress… Saved.]
