Without hesitation, Blake mentally nodded to that question and new information appeared in his head as he felt that little by little, he was getting used to it.
[I need help...
Client: Gaius.
I'm looking for someone to get me iron.]
With those simple words, he had no more to ask.
"Then I'll go right now."
"Okay, just don't go too far into the forest, we don't want you to end up like last time." That was what Gaius said, mocking Blake a little.
"Haha... I'll keep that in mind." Without delay, Blake had already reached the forest, he quickly prepared himself and summoned his sword partner and then entered little by little while they were defeating several monsters without much problem, unlike the first time.
...
"Whistle... And here goes another." A new area of the forest had been cleared thanks to their efforts, but that didn't mean that nothing new would happen, and the system voice convinced Blake of that.
[Acquired: Wooly furball.]
"So, the wooly drop this." And without delay, he opened his inventory out of simple curiosity.
{Wooly furball. Level 1.
Fur shed by a wooly. Incredibly soft to the touch. Chance to put your enemies to sleep.
Effect on upgrades: DEF +2
Sale price: 20G.}
"It doesn't seem to be worth much, but what exactly is that upgrade thing? Does it increase my defense and chance to sleep? I don't know what you mean by that... Anyway, let's leave it for later." Blake continued through the woods after satisfying his curiosity. He still hadn't found any of those rocks Gaius was referring to, but he knew he just had to search more carefully, but just as he concentrated, he didn't find the stones, instead, he found something stranger. "These are... Farmlands?"
He wasn't wrong, in front of him was the same shape as the fields below his house, he could see the limitation between the land that should be used for farming and the one he saw in the whole forest, plus he could differentiate it because in those new fields the same herbs also grew as in the others.
It seemed strange to Blake that there was an area like that in the middle of the forest, and just when he thought of continuing on his way, he had the idea of testing if it was true. He cleared a part of the field and took his hoe to then do the same procedure that he had already done many times, he saw that everything went as he thought, he even tried using his hoe on the normal land of the forest, but just when he hit, he felt as his arms went numb from the hardness of the earth, which made him even more convinced that what he discovered was farmland.
For the last test, he looked in his inventory and pulled out three sacks of pink turnip seeds that he had left and planted them in the patches he had just prepared, watered them, and made a mental note to come back tomorrow to see if it was right.
The hours passed and Blake was already getting bored of wandering through the forest, he faced various monsters, even against the same type of orc from the previous time, but unlike before, this time it took him only a few moves to completely defeat them and destroy all the summoning gates that he came across on the way.
He had already gone deep into the forest, but despite not having found any rocks with iron yet, he was somewhat occupied at the moment by the group of new monsters that were surrounding him.
[Species: Giant beetle. Status: Aggressive.]
[Species: Leaf ball. Status: Aggressive.]
The beetle was exactly what the system said, it was a beetle that walked on two legs, it was the size of an average adult and its attacks were dangerous because of the sharp horn on its head, the leaf ball was practically a kind of monster plant in the shape of a sphere with leaves around it that launched blades of wind and gave off spores that made you feel sleepy, but if that wasn't enough, behind them there was a kind of brown elephant with green tones and leaves instead of ears being ridden by an orc.
[Species: Orc hunter. Status: Watcher.]
[Species: Elephant. Status: Compliant.]
To Blake's good luck, he had already disposed of the area's summoning gate, so his full attention was focused on his opponents. He only needed to glance at the sword plant for it to understand and in the next moment, it was shot towards the leaf ball that was in the distance.
Apart from that, Blake did not stay still, several spheres of fire were generated in his hand and he launched them in the direction of the scarab, hitting it completely and then turning around and shouting in the direction of the mounted orc.
"Power wave!" As before, a blast of fire shot out and hit both the orc and elephant enough to see them turn into orbs of light that disappeared into the distance.
Noting that it only took him one attack to get rid of the one he considered the most troublesome, Blake was glad of the strength he now had. Despite spending a lot of time fighting monsters and going through the forest, he still didn't feel particularly tired and could tell that he had a good portion of his runic energy left.
After finishing off his enemies, he turned around to see that the green sword was quietly floating in the middle of the place and not a single trace of the other monsters could be seen, so he could deduce that his partner had already taken care of everything.
"Looks like I'm not the only one who's gotten stronger, though I don't know how you do it." Even after giving the sword a few extra compliments, it seemed totally immune to them and blithely ignored Blake. He only sighed at his attempts to have a real conversation and just when he thought to investigate the area, something caught his attention and it was enough to completely distract him. "What is this statue doing here?"
[Progress... Saved.]
