Chapter 61 - Day 61: Absolute time! (III)

"I must say that you knew how to deal with the situation at that time, you also have a good partner, I have never seen such a strong magic seed, those orcs didn't even know that it hit them." Although this was not the right time, Gaius didn't seem to care that the battle wasn't over yet, and just as Blake saw another arrow streak through the air, he wanted to warn as fast as he could, but it was necessary.

When the arrow was close to Gaius, he raised his hand and, as if on a summons, the hammer he had thrown earlier appeared in it and he swung it to break the arrow that was approaching him.

"Wow... That was close, well, I think it's time to end this." His words seemed very relaxed, but after saying that, Blake could see how Gaius raised both hands in front of him and the temperature of the place had dropped it increased several degrees, and then a huge fireball the size of a huge rock appeared at the same time Gaius's voice sounded all over the place. "Big fire!"

"Boommm!!" That was the sound that Blake heard just as the spell crashed against the archer who couldn't even move because of the fear he felt at that moment. A huge smoke screen remained in the place and once it completely dissipated and the situation calmed down enough, only an orb of light could be seen rising in the sky among all the mess and disappearing from the place.

Blake's mouth was open at that moment, the sword plant had moved far enough away not to be burned by the heat and Gaius only had a small smile on his face as he turned to say something again, ignoring what it might have provoked a fire in the forest for what he just did.

"That really raised the temperature."

'Did the temperature rise? That thing was practically a miniature sun!' But his thoughts could not be heard by Gaius.

"Haha, sorry to butt in, but I thought you needed a little help." Seeing that Gaius was actually ignoring what he had just done as if it was normal, Blake shook off the questions and sighed helplessly.

"Thank you, Gaius, if you hadn't been here, I could have found my body after several days."

"Don't say that either, man." Gaius said patting Blake's shoulder slowly.

"That's right, I'm just saying..."

"The monsters would have eaten you and no one would find a piece of you." And just as he heard that, Blake fell silent as he waited on the fate that likely awaited him.

"But don't make such a face, it's all over, and if you hadn't been so quick to break the summoning gate, we'd still be surrounded by pesky orcs."

"Summoning Gate? Are you talking about those weird colored spheres?" Again, Blake had heard a new concept and couldn't help but be curious.

"Yes, they appear everywhere in the forest, and these connect our world to the forest of beginnings, that's how monsters manage to cross over and appear everywhere. If you don't destroy them first, you'll eventually get caught up in a wave of monsters that will protect it like crazy."

"Yeah... I think I've already been through that..."

"Is that why you ended up unconscious with Marjorie? But I see you've learned your lesson and are healthy enough to jump into danger again, haha, I like people like you. Anyway, I guess this area is already cleared, and the orcs are back in the forest of beginnings, I should get back to work." Gaius was already ready to go, but Blake stopped him at the last second as he heard something strange.

"Wait, isn't it necessary to defeat them with weapons that have the Tamitaya spell for them to return to the forest of beginnings?" Blake found it strange that Gaius had said the above, obviously that orc who received the huge ball of fire completely ended up in ashes before even reaching the forest of beginnings, but after finishing his question and seeing the confused face of Gaius, Blake just stared at him not understanding his expression.

"Blake, won't you tell me that you still believe in that story?"

"Story?"

"That is a story that children are told so that, when they have to attack a monster, they are not afraid to really hurt it, but that does not work, of course, once you defeat a monster it returns to the forest of beginnings, whether it be with weapons, spells or runic abilities, but there is no such thing as a tamitaya spell or anything like that, I don't think anyone bothered to explain that part to you." And after hearing what Gaius said, Blake wondered if Shara did a joke or if she was actually so innocent that she didn't know that spell never really existed.

'Maybe I should tell Shara the truth later…' "I see, I really didn't know…"

"By the way, I think you should treat that wound."

"What wound…? Argh!" But before he finished his question, Blake's body seemed to stop ignoring the pain and made everything he had accumulated hit him suddenly. He had not noticed it, but the heat of the battle had made him not realize that the wound caused by that arrow had not fully healed, causing the pain to hit him completely now, but that only appeared for a second when Gaius walked over and put his hands on the wound as Blake heard what seemed to be a new spell.

"Cure all." Then Blake felt a light already known to him surround him and made the pain he felt completely disappear while the wound he had was completely closed this time.

"Amazing, I feel like new." Blake could quickly tell the difference and started it by stretching a little.

"Well, that is the goal of healing magic. You may not feel pain, but I suggest you go back to rest, mental fatigue can hit you at any moment and you will be in a bind."

"I understand, thanks for the help, Gaius."

"You're welcome, I'll be at the smithy if you need me." And before he knew it, Blake could see how Gaius was surrounded by a cyan light and then nowhere to be seen indicating that he had cast a very familiar spell.

"It's the first time I've seen someone else teleport, it really is strange to see how they disappear like that..." And seeing that he was now relatively at peace, he decided to delve into his own thoughts a bit. 'It seems that the experiment was a success, I was able to use that ability that stopped time, although I think it did it for less than a few seconds and spent almost all my runic energy... But I'm not going to complain.'
