Chapter 17 - Day 17: Many people (I)

[Walking skill, increased.]

"Pant... Pant... It's obvious that would come back up..." Actually, the notification had already sounded before, but Blake preferred to ignore it. After running as if his life depended on it, he ended up exhausted and panting in front of what at first glance could be said to be a huge mansion.

The construction was gigantic, you could see that it was built with top quality materials, there were windows throughout the front, you could see that it was on two floors, and the entrance door was large enough for many people to enter at the same time and on the way to it, there were two similar statues that were of a beautiful woman who was holding a jug in her hands while they were lifting it in the same position.

"Wow! I think I've never seen a mansion in my life... I think, because since I lost my memory..." At his own comment, Blake became depressed. He approached the statues to better appreciate them before trying to enter the mansion, he was about to continue until he saw that something was written under one of them. 'Evelyn's Clothing Store, open from 12 PM - 5:30 PM (Mon, Wed, Fri).' "Why is this written here?... Wait, is the mansion a clothing store?"

Blake walked to the door and saw that it was open, walked in and could see inside. Inside the mansion, you could see huge stairs that led to the second floor, as well as a large number of doors that led to more rooms. Blake was about to ask if there was anyone until he heard a voice.

"Yuck!" He looked up the stairs and could see two silhouettes overhead. Who did he think belonged to the voice he had heard, it was a man, he was short, his green hair was gathered in an elegant hairstyle as well as his red dress, and bright blue eyes with a monocle in one of them. His complexion was that of someone robust and you could tell that he had a taste for eating since a few candies were appreciated between his hands and on his face were the crumbs of whatever he was eating before. "Yuck! Yuck!"

And right next to him, there was a beautiful girl, her height was tall, her hair was long and purple, and on her head, there was a large hat of the same design as the eccentric clothes she was wearing, she had some pink eyes and a kind look, in addition to the fact that around her arm was what seemed to be a monkey stuffed animal and, on her face, there was a static smile that was dedicated to the complaints of the robust green-haired man.

"More!!!"

"Wait a minute" Blake could only watch as the purple-haired girl fed the robust green-haired man more food and he kept eating nonstop despite complaints about the taste.

"I have to say, Blaise's food is terrible!" And despite saying that, he kept devouring what was in his hands. "Yuck!! Yuck!!, more, please!!!"

"Hehe, of course. I'll have to thank Blaise, but you really eat a lot dad."

"So you think? Hmm... I'm going to check it out for a while and not give you an answer... More!!"

"Okay, wait." Blake didn't really understand the situation, it seemed strange to him the way the man spoke compared to his actions, and how the girl did not seem to be affected actually. He thought about introducing himself until he managed to see that someone new was arriving with those already present.

"Good night, father!" That someone who had just given the strange greeting was a girl very similar to the previous one. She wore an elegant and loose dress; her hair was a strong violet color as well as her eyes and her delicate facial features highlighted her elegance even more as he looked at the people in front of her.

"Indeed! Bad days, my ugly Sofia!"

"Thank you, I hate you, dad."

"Are you going in today?"

"Yes. I'm going out. I'm in a bad mood."

"I see!... Just don't go anywhere dangerous. Do not be careful!"

"I will not do it."

"I don´t mean that!"

"Well, I'm going!" Everything was very strange, in each exchange of words between the girl and the robust man, offensive words were said or did not agree with the actions and expressions that they carried out. Blake was trying to analyze everything correctly, but he was sure that what came out of their mouth was what he had heard.

After they finished their talk, Blake saw how the elegant girl approached the place he was and left through the huge door, but not before showing a friendly smile of greeting to the confused Blake and he did the same in response. As she was out of sight of him, the purple-haired girl's voice caused Blake to turn his attention back to the stairs once more.

"Sigh… Always talking to opposites. Why do you have to have that way of doing things so difficult?"

"Opposites?" With her comment, Blake got an idea of what they were talking about, and perhaps he found the answer to his previous question. He saw that they were no longer talking to each other, so he decided to go upstairs and introduce himself once and for all. "Nice to meet you."

"Eh?! Exactly, it's not the first time we've seen each other. Mr. Newcomer."

"Uh... Have we met before?"

"Yes. My name is Sherman De Sainte-Coquille. What's yours?"

"Uhh... Blake."

"Ah, Blake. Well, as of today, we don't know each other."

"..."

"It's not nice meeting you, Blake."

"M-Me too...?"

"Well, Blake, it was not a pleasure, now I must go taste the disgusting food at the restaurant. Jojojo! See you." And hearing Sherman's peculiar laugh as he left the mansion, and despite his initial idea of opposites, Blake couldn't understand what Sherman really wanted to tell him. He tried the best he could and only managed to grasp that he liked meeting him or something like that, and he could see how he walked away from him while he continued with the doubt of him in his head. Once surrendered, he better put his attention on the girl on the stairs and prayed to understand her.

"Hi, I don't think we know each other."

"Hmm... Who could you be?"

"I'm Blake! I just moved into the treehouse in town."

"Oh yeah. I heard you showed up here and lost your memory! It must have been a horrible experience; I hope you can get it back soon..."

"Hehe... Okay, I'm trying my best." Blake was happy, it seemed that the girl in front of him spoke normally and he could sigh without concern.

"Hehe, it's good to hear… Anyway, I'm Evelyn. I think you listened to my family; they speak with opposites. They are that rare."

"Yes, I noticed. When they speak, it does not seem that what they say makes much sense... It is something difficult in many respects..."

"Well, they can be difficult to deal with. I have to admit it. But dad and my sister are kind and generous too. Try to look past their eccentricities please!"

"I'll do it, do not worry!"

"Hehe, and who knows? Maybe you will become such friends that they will talk bad about you behind your back!"

"That... Seems the opposite of what it should!"

"I see you got it."

"Hahaha!" The atmosphere seemed nice enough at the time, and Blake was grateful to be able to have a normal conversation, but he seemed like he wouldn't hesitate for long when that question came out of nowhere.

"Blake, are you interested in fashion?"
