Chapter 16 - Small peek into the future?

I was gazing up at the sky when suddenly someone covered my eyes from behind. "Guess who I am?~"

Recognizing her voice, I smirked and took her hand, slowly removing it before turning around. "Hey, that's cheating!" she exclaimed, pouting adorably. I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Oh? Really?" I replied, teasing her. She nodded, her cheeks puffed out as she looked away, looking so cute that I couldn't hold back. "You're really cute, you know that?"

She glanced back at me, a slight blush creeping onto her cheeks. "W-what are you talki—" Before she could finish, I kissed her lips, unable to contain myself any longer.

I pulled away, looking at her bright red face and wide eyes. It was clear she hadn't expected that. "Y-you! Hayden, you idiot!" she stammered, starting to hit me with her fists. The way she hit me didn't hurt at all, so I laughed. She looked absolutely adorable.

I took both of her hands and gazed into her eyes, smirking slightly. "Did you hate it?" Her face turned even redder as she looked away, clearly flustered. Hmm, can't answer that?

In a low voice, I caught her murmuring, "Do you really need to ask that?..." At that moment, I just wanted to squish her cheeks, but I tried to keep my composure and hugged her instead, laughing softly.
